Like Hillary, California's Korrupt Kammy Not Inevitable

California Attorney General Kamala Harris could win the Democratic Party nomination for US Senate in 2016. Like Presidential contender Hillary Clinton, she threw her name out for consideration within days of incumbent Barbara Boxer's unique (if not strange) announcement to retire in 2016. (Of course, Boxer's decision not to run was not the biggest surprise to connected California politicos, since the ineffectual progressive had little campaign cash on hand, with no intention of raising more.)

Sister Cicilline Loses Primary: Reflections

Normally, local races for state house positions get very little attention in the national press. Why should they? Aside from inflammatory personal failings are unique distinctions relating to identity (like an eighteen year old conservative Republican female in the West Virginia legislature), state house politicians have little impact on the national discourse.

If SCOTUS Says "Yes" to Gay Marriage. .

A few days ago, I spoke with an ardent advocate for faith and family in New England, where secularism, pluralism, and academic conformity have replaced the fundamental values on which this country is based. I had asked him his thoughts about the upcoming decision from the Supreme Court of the United States, whether they would recognize the radical redefinition of marriage. He admitted that many people have been pressing for his thoughts on the matter, and ultimately he was all burned out on talking about the subject.

The Democratic Party: Weekend at Bernie’s

Not a golden oldie, but a cult classic in its own right, "Weekend at Bernie's" is making a comeback. A strange modern-day slapstick escapade with little critical success, this a box office smash from the late 1980s that not only enjoyed three rereleases, but its latest uploads on YouTube. The unlikely story featured two young insurance associates, Larry Wilson and Richard Parker, who discover a massive accounting error ($2 million) and report the mistake to their boss, Bernie Lomax. In reality, the mistake was an attempted embezzlement by the same employer, knee-deep in mob connections and all attending troubles. In order to correct the correction, Lomax orders hitmen to take out the associates Wilson and Parker, and he invites them to his weekend retreat under the guise of rewarding them.

It's Time for Eureka, California!

The California State Seal can be a guide for bringing back the glister to the Golden State. In the 1840s, California was brimming with opportunity. Gold fever and gold rushes, combined with the transfer of state authority from a tyrannical Spanish Empire then a corrupt and dysfunction Mexican government, to the United States of America signaled the progress of any terroritory under differing political cultures. California, a backwater abandoned by imperial interests, neglected by an upstart former colonial power, has become one of the wealthiest countries (if it were independent from the United States).

Consolation Following Lynch Confirmation

Yes, the Republican US Senate majority just confirmed the racist, gun-grabbing Loretta Lynch. Yes, Ted Cruz voted against cloture, then departed from the US Senate to attend another fundraiser.

Say No To Rubio

Florida's junior US Senator Marco Rubio, like New Jersey Governor Chris Christie, commanded a great deal of respect with conservative activists. In 2010, Tea Party elements who helped propel his outsider candidacy for the US Senate against more Establishmentarian Republican governor Charlie Crist and the fledging Democratic candidate who had no chance of winning in the Republican leaning Sunshine state. After Christie and McDonnell's gubernatorial victories especially in a watershed year for conservative insurgents across the country fed up with Big Government getting bigger under President Obama.

Media Amnesia on Walker and Common Core

A few months ago, I received the following Eblast (provided in italics) from another PAC supporting a different presidential candidate. Some of the information is misleading at best, and false to its core at worse:

Fight for Freedom of Conscience in Indiana

Indiana Governor Mike Pence is flinching under public, corporate pressure over a law which has elicited nearly lawless upset: SB 101 or the Religious Freedom Restoration Act. Critics charge that this legislation justifies invidious discrimination, particularly against gays and lesbians.

Walker and Gay Marriage

Now that Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker is a bright and rising frontrunner for the Republican Presidential nomination, concerned partisans left and right are attacking him for his stance on gay marriage. Despite his affirmation of marriage between one man and one woman, he declared his decision not to challenge federal rulings which struck down gay marriage bans across the country, including his home state.

Consolation on DHS Fail

Like many conservatives, fighters for liberty, and mainstream Americans who wanted a robust fight for the Constitution and against President Obama's executive amnesty, I was very disappointed that Boehner and Co, pushed a dirty DHS funding bill, dirty because it was cleansed of the necessary riders blocking funds for illegal executive orders.

Right-To-Work on the Rise (and Why)

Workplace Fairness and Equity is advancing in the United States. That's Right-To-Work, more colloquially, but the fairness and equity touch comes from Michigan Governor Rick Snyder, who emphasized that the reforms would give individual employees the choice whether to join a union or not, and how the union dues are spent.

RNCC 2016 Donkeys: The Jim Costa Award

The National Republican Congressional Committee is seeking a do-over for some potential seats which they missed out on flipping in 2014. Entitled Donkeys 2016, the RNCC listed nineteen Democratic Congressional reps whom they look to challenge and ultimately unseat.

Fox News Fail on Boehner and DHS Funding

On Fox News Sunday this past week (February 15, 2015), House Speaker John Boehner was taking hard questions about funding for the Department of Homeland Security, set to expire at the end of the month. The overwhelming gist of the Fox News interview became: "Why are Republicans threatening to shut the government down once again?"

Media Amnesia about Walker's "Amnesty"

Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker's momentous rise in the polls have set him up for his fair share of criticism. Some readers fault the governor for not fighting against the federal judiciary's imposition of gay marriage. What do concerned partisans expect him to do? Right-to-work advocates fear that Walker will stand down on expanding the reform in his state. Public sector unions have been irreversibly neutered in Area 51 of the Modern Labor Movement, and yet they still complain?

Boehner Invites Bibi: Brilliance or Boo-Boo?

Speaker of the House John Boehner should be praised not condemned for inviting Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to speak to a joint session of Congress. Yet President Obama and his diminished Democratic Party in Congress are offended, livid even that the Speaker would bypass the President and invite another head of state to speak to Congress.
