BombThrowers

Bombthrowers is a blog about politics and the war for the hearts and minds of Americans from a conservative viewpoint. In line with our name, we do not hold back. We have a take-no-prisoners attitude when it comes to fighting for conservative principles. The Left doesn’t play nice, and that’s why they’ve been winning. It’s time for conservatives to rise up and turn the tide. We’re not afraid to take on anyone, especially the Washington Establishment—Republican or Democrat. Bombthrowers is a project supported by the Capital Research Center. Its editor-in-chief is Matthew Vadum.

What Ossoff did to Handel in Georgia-6 is “unforgivable”

Even before I saw the election results Wednesday morning, I knew Republican Karen Handel had won the Georgia special election because the Atlanta Journal-Constitution had other stuff on its front page. “Hawks Trade Dwight Howard to Hornets” ran the headline under the cover picture. “Karen must have won!” I concluded, accurately.

Unions make an offer Illinois can’t refuse

Thanks to Big Labor’s political machine, Illinois and California are in a race to see whose economy can go belly-up first – and they’re happy to let their taxpayers foot the bill.

The Comey/Mueller Tag Team

In a prior column, I pointed out how strange it was that Robert Mueller, the former FBI director, was leading the investigation of the Trump administration for its alleged collusion with Russia to hack and steal the 2016 election from Hillary Clinton. Mueller was appointed to lead the investigation even though one of the main witnesses in this investigation happen to be his protégé, James Comey, who was also Mueller’s successor at the FBI. Comey — it should be obvious — has a vested interest in embarrassing or harming Donald Trump, the man who fired him.

Conservative leader Jim DeMint joins Convention of States Project

The Convention of States Project (COS) has added a prominent conservative voice to its staff: retired South Carolina Senator Jim DeMint, who recently left his post as head of the Heritage Foundation, will be a paid senior advisor for COS, which is leading the effort to have the states call for a new constitutional convention that would produce amendments which, if passed, would restrain the powers of the federal government.

How the GOP can help people losing their Obamacare coverage

It happens so often now that it has stopped being remarkable: another health insurance company leaves the Obamacare exchange. Near the end of May, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas City announced it would be exiting the Missouri and Kansas exchanges, causing 67,000 people to lose coverage. That will likely leave people in 25 Missouri counties without an insurer in the individual market.

The continuing pro-life evolution of Donald Trump

The Protecting Life in Global Health Assistance (PLGHA) policy is the latest example of President Donald Trump paying more than lip service on pro-life policy, despite doubts many pro-lifers once had.

Robert Mueller is the wrong man to investigate President Trump

Well, the Democrats finally got their special counsel on the Russian 2016 scandal. Robert Mueller, formerly an FBI director and federal prosecutor, was appointed by Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein to investigate the alleged Russian efforts to interfere with the 2016 presidential campaign, and the alleged Trump administration collusion with the Russians.

Soros-funded think tank attempts to silence critical journalists

Two journalists that had been critical of the Atlantic Council, a George Soros-funded think tank, have found themselves under attack by the organization. (Bombthrowers editorial note: On its website, the Atlantic Council of the United States discloses receiving between $50,000 and $99,000 from Soros’s Open Society Foundations. But that presents an incomplete picture. IRS filings reveal Soros’s Open Society Institute has given $248,259 to the Atlantic Council since 2002.)

Trump’s executive order on religious freedom under attack

After President Donald Trump issued an executive order on religious freedom last week, the Left used its pre-written script to attack it even though it was dramatically scaled back from the draft that was leaked to left-wing media outlets in February.

Metastasizing academic cancer

The average American has little knowledge of the extent to which our institutions of higher learning have been infected with a spreading cancer. One aspect of that cancer is akin to the loyalty oaths of the 1940s and ’50s.

A DANGEROUS NEWCOMER TO THE LEFT'S WAR AGAINST TRUMP & AMERICA

A key participant in the political war by which the Left is currently fighting to delegitimize and ultimately destroy the Trump presidency is a relatively new organization called Shareblue, which grew out of Blue Nation Review (BNR), a pro-Democrat entity that once described Hillary Clinton as "one of the most ethical political leaders in America. In 2015 David Brock, a former-conservative-turned-leftist, purchased BNR and rebranded it as Shareblue. From the outset, his objective has been to develop Shareblue into a progressive media outlet that speaks directly to grass roots Americans, who are, in Brock's estimation, "avidly and unabashedly pro-Hillary.
