Grace-Marie Turner's Top 10 coming ObamaCare disasters

Our friend Grace-Marie Turner, who has appeared on my show in the past to explain all that is wrong with ObamaCare, has an excellent piece in National Review today that highlights the Top 10 disasters that are on their way as a result of ObamaCare.

Today, we rebuke bad news: Our government may be a mess, but we are a nation of heroes

My pastor spelled it out yesterday morning during his sermon at Antioch Baptist Church in Atlanta. All we hear about these days is bad news. And it's true. Bad news about scandals. Bad news about health care policy. Bad news about the economy. Especially if you focus on news about the government, there's just about no escaping the negative.

ObamaCare doesn’t work because you can’t pass a law against reality

I think it’s more than a little amusing that official Washington is so surprised about the problems with ObamaCare. Some of us saw them coming all along. The soaring premiums. The cancellations of millions of policies people were perfectly happy with. The reduction of worker hours because of the mandates in the law. This was all predictable because actions have consequences, and if you understand how things work, you can often foresee the consequence

More racist garbage from Alan Grayson

If you're not familiar with Congressman Alan Grayson of Florida, it might be that you don't pay attention to people who run their mouths a lot but don't contribute anything of substance. So let me introduce you to this fine representative of the Democrat Party, particularly because his latest utterance yesterday demonstrated beyond any question that he can fairly be labeled a racist.

Even with my early-‘70s computer science degree, I can see the problems with HealthCare.gov

I’m sure I am not anyone’s idea of an IT expert today – my degree in computer science from the early 1970s notwithstanding. But there are some things about computer programming that, at least in a general sense, a guy like me still understands. And that’s why, when I hear about the nature of HealthCare.gov’s problems and the approach the administration is taking to fixing them, I recognize it could be a very long time before this thing is working correctly – if it ever does.

Don’t ignore the collateral damage ObamaCare is causing

There's been so much media attention on the government shutdown and the technical "glitches" with healthcare.gov, that there has been only anecdotal coverage of the real pain caused by the determined implementation of ObamaCare on real people and businesses.

Democrats ‘win’ the shutdown showdown . . . but what do you win?

I guess it’s official that the Democrats “won” the government shutdown, because the media and the Beltway crowd keep telling us that. I’m not sure what their prize is, and I don’t really care, because I’m not interested in the usual thinking that views everything that ever happens in terms of political winners and losers.

My prediction: ‘Drop dead’ financial crisis

In this week's so called fiscal deal, the Republicans got nothing new and the Democrats got everything that they wanted. That's why I believe we are headed for another crisis in a couple of months. And what's more, I believe that the Democrats are going to play this game all the way up to the 2014 elections. Watch:

Democrats don’t care about the people

Harry Reid and the democrats don't care about the people, they don't want to negotiate, and they don't care about the unintended consequences of this shutdown. Watch:

Restaurant owner ordered to close because of shutdown: I do not think so

Glenn Helseth operates the Carrot Tree Kitchen in Yorktown, Virginia. Because the restaurant is located on federal land - and operates out of a building leased from the federal government - those running the Obama Shutdown Show have told Helseth he needs to close his restaurant for the duration of the people. That would throw him and his 20 employees into unemployment and threaten the viability of the restaurant.

5 presidents, 17 shutdowns; all negotiated . . . except you-know-who

To listen to the White House and the media, you would get the impression that a government shutdown, brought on by the inability of Congress to agree on a spending measure, is unprecedented! And to listen to Obama, you’d think that for Congress to actually demand conditions for passing such a measure is akin to taking hostages and holding them at gunpoint.

3 reasons the shutdown (which is really just a slowdown) will be an ugly smackdown

In practical terms, the government "shutdown" isn't having much effect on most people's lives. Only 28 percent of the federal workforce is even off the job, and for all the media's hysterics, people are realizing they are quite capable of living their lives on a daily basis with relying on any "essential services" from Washington D.C. It's more a slowdown than a shutdown, and not that consequential a slowdown either.

ObamaCare do-gooders don’t care

I have often described the liberals' tactics as S.I.N. When they can't justify what they want to do with logic or facts, which is basically always, they shift the subject, ignore the facts, and name call.
