Once it was over, they rarely missed a chance to make sure you knew that they bore sole responsibility for putting an end to George W. Bush's evil, insidious, and ill-conceived "war for Mid-East oil." In turn, they demanded all the credit. Oh sure, they were repeatedly warned that a quick pullout would leave a power vacuum that would give rise to all sorts of nasty insurgent organizations but they couldn't have cared less. The talking point was all that mattered.

If, in the last few weeks, if you've watched a liberal talking head discuss the midterms, the odds are you heard them say that Obama's skillful handling of the economy will salvage the Democrats' 2014 hopes. "Only" 79%, they say, view the economy as "fair or poor" these days! While they'll probably admit that's not great, they still brag about it as an improvement. You may be too dumb to know it, but things are oh so much better! This has become their go-to response when asked about the possibility of a Dem bloodbath in November.

Obama says 'they' underestimated ISIS - 'they' sure do screw up a lot

You may recall 60 Minutes interviewer Steve Kroft from an utterly embarrassing sit down he conducted with President Obama and Hillary Clinton back in 2013. If you watched it, you'll probably recall that Kroft was almost apologetic when he dared to ask Hillary a question about Benghazi. Instead of covering any real issues, the whole thing devolved into a completely disgraceful piece of non-journalism in which the President and outgoing Secretary of State spent a half hour telling America how they adored each other and what "strong" friends they were.

Woman beheaded at workplace in Oklahoma

Update: added video with the Moore, OK police press conference which confirms the beheading. There's some horrifying news coming to us from Moore, Oklahoma, where a 54-year-old woman was beheaded by an assailant at work. Initial reports suggest that the attacker had recently been fired and returned to the food processing plant where he worked. There, he used one of the knives in the facility to behead one of his former coworkers before moving on to stab another.

New York Times takes two weeks to figure out that Bush had a coalition in Iraq - issues apology

Back on September 11th, The New York Times ran a front page article about the growing drums of war in Iraq and Syria. In it, Mark Landler argued that Obama wasn't the "go it alone cowboy" that George W. Bush had been during the Iraq war. To the contrary, Obama was doing his best to surround himself with military "partners" - something, the paper claimed, Bush hadn't bothered to do.
