Friends invited Mary and me to spend Father's Day with them at Disney. Upon our return home that evening, my 82-year-old dad called. He said, "I am now ready to go home to be with the Lord, Jerry preacher the Father's Day sermon today!" Dad proudly added, "He hit a home run!"

Recently, I thought of two Hall of Fame baseball players, Baltimore Orioles' Frank Robinson and Cal Ripken Jr. On several occasions, I witnessed Robinson, bottom of the ninth with two outs, dramatically hitting the game-winning home run. Coming from the project, Obama's Supreme Court nominee Sonia Sotomayor's story is inspiring. Ironically, the success of Obama, a black, and Sotomayor, Latina, epitomizes the availability of the American Dream to minorities as well as the greatness of America. And yet, both harbor resentments and seek to re-shape America. Here is a quote from Sotomayor, "I would hope that a wise Latina woman, with the richness of her experience, would more often than not reach a better conclusion than a white male who hasn't lived that life." Imagine if a white male nominee made this racist statement in reverse. He would be toast!

"Maybe this # should shut up and learn his place" is one of numerous racist hate-filled comments posted on YouTube attacking me, a black Conservative, for writing the "American Tea Party Anthem." And who is spewing this racist hate? So-called tolerant Liberals.

I realize that many of you truly want to believe Obama is the great savior. At a party, astonishingly, someone said we should be patient with Obama because he is working down a list of everything wrong with America and fixing it. A friend even went as far as to say, "God will judge Foxnews for their negative reporting of Obama." Unfortunately, I'm sure my friend is not alone in his belief that Obama is divine and anyone criticizing or opposing him is evil.
