Prolifers Arrested at Notre Dame During Peaceful Protest

Imprisoned Christian Alimujiang Yimiti Permitted to Meet with Attorney

On April 21, imprisoned Uyghur Christian Alimujiang Yimiti was allowed to meet with his attorney Li Dunyong. Attorney Li had concerns for Alimujiang's well-being after eyewitnesses saw Alimujiang being forcibly escorted to Nongsanshi (Military Farm) Hospital in Kashgar at 10 a.m. on March 30. Alimujiang's hands were bound and he was observed being roughly escorted by police and a prison doctor while repeatedly crying out to onlookers in Chinese, "I'm sick. Tell my lawyer to come quickly to see me."

Hate Crimes Legislation Vote Coming Next Week

U.S. Representative, Barney Frank, announced Thursday that the House Judiciary Committee will be considering hate crimes legislation, H.R. 1913, this coming week of April 20. Frank is expecting the committee to pass the bill which would leave it in the House to vote on later this spring, according to a news release issued by Barney Frank on his website last week.*
