"A martyred town, a symbolic town" is the poignant description of Kobane, by French President Francois Hollande. The Simple Faith of Humble Men

(Originally appearing in the Manchester Union Leader) “Thus out of small beginnings greater things have been produced by His hand. And as one small candle may light a thousand, so the light here kindled hath shone to many. Let the glorious name of Jehovah have all the praise.” (William Bradford, Governor of Plymouth County, 1621)

VIDEO: Obama brags that he 'changed the law' on immigration

Nice catch by Ed Morrissey at HotAir, who notes that when pressed by heckling amnesty advocates, President Obama is apparently quite willing to admit he really did - or at least he thinks he really did - what the Constitution says he doesn't have the authority to do:

Ted Cruz: Romney, Christie, and Bush are going to run - and they'll lose in the general

Way back before 2012, I argued that if Mitt Romney was the nominee, he'd lose. He simply had no chance because the base wouldn't support him. Then, as the election drew closer, I'll admit it. I got caught up in things. I started to think that he might actually pull it off. In the end, obviously, my initial instincts were proven right.

White House stuffs 3,400 new regulations into your Thanksgiving turkey

Maybe we all did overreact to President Obama's executive amnesty, not because it's OK or insignificant, but because we really don't have a solid grasp on just how often he uses the reach of the executive branch to impose his will on the nation. The Daily Signal reports that the White House is getting ready to drop 3,400 new regulations on the nation, and many of them are significant in scope and effect. We're talking about everything from coal rules to restrictions on carbon emissions to curb "climate change."

Why “Grid Parity” is a Meaningless Concept

A recent report proclaimed that solar power will reach “grid parity” in most of the United States by 2016. Referencing a Deutsche Bank report, Bloomberg announced that if the investment tax credit (ITC) of 30 percent is extended beyond 2016, solar energy in 47 states would achieve price parity with electricity from conventional sources in 2016.

TAXPAYER ALERT: Big Wind Urging Congress for Yet Another Bailout

“Industrial wind can NEVER provide modern reliable, dispatchable, baseload power; has cost far more jobs than it creates; and is destroying the very environment they claim they wish to save.”
Taxpayers beware!
