Britain’s Green Energy Fiasco Deepens

Families face paying up to £40 extra each year for wind and solar farms to meet climate change targets after the government revised its energy price forecasts. The subsidy required for each unit of renewable electricity will rise after the Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC) conceded that gas was much cheaper than it had predicted. A glut of gas on the world market means gas-fired power stations have become cheaper to run, making wind and solar farms comparatively even more expensive. --Tim Webb & Ben Webster, The Times, 3 October 2014

Right to exist determined by revamped history

Israel's right to exist determined by revamped history
Hearing the defamatory accusations with which numerous countries blasted Israel during the UN Human Rights Commission meetings last week in Geneva, it is a wonder that any nation would be given latitude to call themselves sovereign by United Nations standards.

Iran is not the enemy of the ISIS

Iran is not the enemy of the ISIS
If you think the principle "the enemy of my enemy is my friend" applies to Iranian regime with respect to the Islamic State--also known as ISIS or ISIL--think again. The reality is that the Iranian regime has been taking advantage of the onslaught of the Islamic State to further its own agendas in the region. Reciprocally, the Islamic State owes much of its recent gains in power, territory and riches to the Iranian regime and its cohorts in the region.

Justin Trudeau jokes about war and Canada’s military

Justin Trudeau jokes about war and Canada’s military
It is no secret Liberal leader Justin Trudeau is not overly concerned with the terrorism now threatening the West. While being interviewed a couple of hours after the Boston Marathon bombing, he was asked his opinion on it. At that time none of the facts of the explosions were known. A grownup would have declined to answer. Yet Trudeau, without knowing the “who” or the “why” said we must examine the root causes as to what made the perpetrators do what they did. An extremely immature answer.

Opposing Illegal Immigrant Warehousing Is 'Racist'?

Opposing Illegal Immigrant Warehousing Is 'Racist'
Last June, community outrage forced the federal government to cancel plans to house hundreds of illegal alien children at a closed college in Lawrenceville, VA. A complaint filed by St. Paul's College and nonprofit Housing Opportunities Made Equal (HOME) of Virginia with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) alleges the move was racially motivated. Both entities also filed a separate complaint against the Health and Human Services Department (HHS) for canceling the lease, citing another alleged violation of anti-discrimination laws.

How to explain terrorism to a 12-year-old

While I was taking a few days off from my radio show earlier this week, a friend shared with me that his 12-year-old had been asked by one of his teachers to write a paper on ISIS. He wanted to know what I thought about that assignment.
