A lot of money is being spent on a fool's errand

The recent hacking of the private information of all federal government employees makes one ask... is it possible to protect data which is stored electronically? Judging by the lack of reaction by the government and the public, it seems we think it is not possible.

That being the case, why even try? A lot of money is being spent on a fool's errand. Or, the flip side, it is possible to protect such data, which titans of industry seem to believe. I haven't heard of Donald Trump being hacked. In which case, get the government out of the way and let the experts do it right. Either way, just be honest about it. Either the government is completely inept or it can't be done. I know what I believe. How about you? Shirley Reynolds
