Gustavo Gutierrez, Founder of Liberation Theology, Dies at 96

ROME — Father Gustavo Gutiérrez, the Peruvian theologian widely regarded as the father of Liberation Theology, passed away Tuesday, leaving behind a mixed legacy of faith, social justice, and Marxism.
