New Gallup Poll Shows Americans More Pro-Life Than Pro-Abortion

A new Gallup poll finds Americans slightly more inclined to favor restrictions on abortion than broad legality, marking a pro-life tilt in public sentiment four years after the Supreme Court’s Dobbs decision returned the issue to the states.

According to Gallup’s May 1-17 Values and Beliefs poll, 49% of Americans say they prefer abortion to be illegal in all circumstances or legal in only a few such as rape incest or saving the life of the mother. That’s compared with 48% who want it legal in all or most cases.
The 1-percentage-point edge for protecting babies from abortions underscores growing recognition of the unborn child’s right to life, pro-life advocates say.

This marks a reversal from the immediate aftermath of the Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization ruling. In May 2022, shortly after a draft opinion leaked, 53% favored legality in all or most circumstances — the first majority for that view in Gallup’s long-running trend. Support for expansive abortion has since receded, returning the country to a narrow but meaningful preference for pro-life limits.

The findings come as 19 states enforce strong protections for the unborn with some banning abortions, some protecting babies at 6 weeks and some protecting babies later, reflecting state-level decisions enabled by Dobbs. ---More...

Her story deserves compassion. A woman who has lost a baby, especially after repeated losses, needs care, clarity, and mercy. She does not need fear. She does not need confusion. She does not need the abortion industrial complex turning her pain into propaganda.

Ashley appears scared of infection and sepsis. She says she wants the baby “removed today” so she can “move on.” She says she is in Orlando, at Disney World, waiting for an Uber to take her to Planned Parenthood. That detail should not make us dismiss her pain. People in crisis still go through the motions. They can be on vacation and still be grieving. New Abortion Poll Shows America is Becoming More Pro-Life

A growing body of survey data which finds that pro-life sentiment has increased since the Dobbs leak.

Today, Gallup released the results of its annual poll on sanctity of life issues. Pollsters surveyed over 1,000 adults in May. Overall, the results show that there has been a considerable amount of stability in public attitudes toward abortion.

The poll found that 42 percent of respondents identify as “pro-life.” That is a one percentage point decrease from last year’s poll. The poll also found that a plurality of Americans, 49 percent, believe that abortion should be either “illegal in all circumstances” or “legal in only a few circumstances.” This represents a one percentage point increase from the previous year. ---More...

Canadian Committee Rejects Euthanizing Mentally Ill People

The report of the Special Joint Committee on Medical Assistance in Dying (AMAD): Mental Disorder as the Sole Underlying Medical Condition: A Complex and Challenging Conversation Among Canadians was released on June 17, 2026, which is also the 10th Anniversary of the legalization of euthanasia in Canada.

The AMAD Committee decided that Canada should not implement euthanasia for mental disorders as the sole underlying medical condition on March 17, 2027. The report concluded:

That the Government of Canada amend the Criminal Code to indefinitely exclude persons whose sole underlying medical condition is a mental illness from eligibility for medical assistance in dying.

It is great news that the AMAD Committee decided that Canada should not implement euthanasia for mental illness, but the battle is not over. ---More...

Ireland Dáil Votes to Remove 3-Day Wait Before Killing Babies in Abortions

The Pro Life Campaign has expressed disappointment at the outcome of tonight’s Dáil vote on the three-day waiting period before an abortion. The Sinn Féin bill to abolish the reflection period passed second stage by 86 votes to 70 votes.

Pro Life Campaign spokesperson Eilís Mulroy said:

“We’re very disappointed by tonight’s result. The role played by Micheál Martin and Simon Harris in the outcome cannot be overstated. They have nothing to be proud of in the way they behaved. Neither man even attempted to make the case publicly for backing the bill.
