Obama's pay increase

Former Presidents

As one of the youngest men to serve in the Presidency, Barack Obama stands to benefit the most from his own proposal to increase the retirement pay for Presidents by 18%. Because the best healthcare money can buy that is afforded our leaders, Obama has the likelihood of a long life after his term as president; very probably 30-40 years. During that time he will earn large speaking fees, book royalties and probably another salary as the CEO of a foundation or as a community organizer. It quickly becomes clear that being the President is more about money and power than about service to country. It's a gutsy move to propose this increase during this time of political unrest. And it certainly does nothing to reassure the people of his motives. Fred Libby
