One-hundred Billion dollars. Let that sink in. That is how much wealth will be redistributed by 2020. Four short years.
One-hundred billion (with a B) that rich countries will give to poor countries under the guise of fixing our climate.
The United States share, which is certainly big, if not the biggest, will all be borrowed money. Money we borrow from China, who, by the way, will be given a waiver from compliance with the goals.
We will borrow money to give to poor countries to fix their pollution problems. There is no mechanism in place to ensure that the money is used as intended. For those of you with short memories, in the past, emergency aid has not gotten past the hands of the leaders of the countries, while those for whom it was intended suffered. What is to stop a repeat performance with this money?
It baffles me that this agreement, which is totally voluntary, is getting so much press. When we look back, it will be much like Solyndra and other United States climate change investments. A few people will get a cash windfall at the expense of the American taxpayer and little will be accomplished.
