HOMELESS VETERANS -- From surviving on the open sidewalk to living in their own private tent ....

HOMELESS VETERANS -- From surviving on the open sidewalk to living in their own private tentFellow Veterans and Friends of Veterans: While it was raining last night and this morning, for the first time our homeless Veterans who were living in the open cold and rain as well as sleeping on the hard cement sidewalk outside the VA, now have a roof over their heads and are sleeping on an elevated cot.
See attached photo below of what used to be Brentwood's "Skid Row" and has now become Veterans "Pride Row." Thanks to members of the Old Veterans Guard who initiated this transition, particularly U.S. Marine Veteran James Spencer who spent more than $1,500 on tents and cots, etc., (one 14x10 tent and cot costs $250) several individuals including my oldest sister and her husband in Colorado (both in their late 80s and my brother-in-law was a U.S. Navy Fighter Pilot), Lawrence Phillips, Air Force Veteran, Bill Handy from Orange County, Kimberly Salas from Santa Maria, Heather Cruise from Brentwood, Robert Sticht from Brentwood, et al., along with the noble leadership of Judicial Watch in Washington, D.C., and their generous donations to help build Veterans "Pride Row." Here's article by Judicial Watch: Tents Raised Outside LA VA to Help Homeless Vets Neglected by Agency "Canada Free Press" has written about this major transformation of homeless Veterans living in inhumane squalor to dignity and pride outside the Los Angeles VA comparing it to VA's homeless Veteran "internment camp" inside the VA You’re Only Homeless in L.A. Sadly, there's been nothing at all from the local media yet many residents of Brentwood and West Los Angeles are praising the vast improvement to the pubic eye, never mind the vast improvement to the hope and confidence of the homeless Veterans ... Also attached are photos from yesterday's 634th consecutive Sunday of the Veterans Revolution protest against the VA.
