BELARUS: Praying in Homeless Shelter a Crime

Source: Forum18 A young Catholic layman, who turned his home into a shelter for homeless people with a prayer room, is being accused of leading an unregistered religious organization. Aleksei Shchedrov, who says he has helped about 100 local people since December 2011, is being investigated on criminal charges under Article 193-1. City of Toronto update on flooding impacts

TORONTO, - The City of Toronto has experienced significant impacts as a result of this evening's intense rainfall and subsequent power outage. Rainfall amounts over 90 mm have been reported in parts of the Greater Toronto Area so far. As of 10:45 p.m. Environment Canada advises that all weather warnings across the GTA have been ended. Toronto Hydro has reported that approximately 300,000 people are without power in Toronto.

EGYPT: Political Protests of Disgruntled Citizens

Sources: BBC, International Christian Concern, Assist News Millions of Egyptians have been protesting on the streets of Tahrir Square in Egypt, demanding that Islamist President Mohammed Morsi and his Muslim Brotherhood government step down. They are angered over his increasingly clear Islamist agenda and economic mismanagement. Morsi had warned that he would use the military against the crowds to restore order if he was threatened. However, the military turned against Morsi on July 3rd, suspending the constitution and removing Morsi from power. The military leadership is promising new elections soon.

June sales cap positive first half auto sales for 2013

TORONTO – June auto sales of 171,608 units capped a strong first half of 2013 in which sales of light duty vehicles were up 2.2% (883,667 units) while sales for the month of June were up marginally by 1.3% compared to a year ago. Following on sales increases of 9% in April and 5% in May, the June numbers contributed to a strong spring selling seasons. At the current pace, 2013 has an opportunity to represent one of the best years ever for light duty vehicle sales in Canada, and is tracking with reach of the record 1.73 million units sold in 2002.
