The Threat of Sustainable Development

image"The imposition of environmental regulations has become the greatest threat to ownership and control of private property. Our Supreme Court has now declared that there is no private property and that any community is free to take any property it desires for private development -- all for the common good of the community. "We have accepted the rise of a horde of powerful non-elected government agencies like planning commissions, transportation commissions, homeowners associations, neighborhood development councils, historic preservation councils, and stake-holder councils -- and we call them a proper role for government.

Veteran’s Day

I had the impression that our President would attend a gathering to honor our Veterans today, eat turkey with our Veterans for thanksgiving, a president tradition. Last year at this time, Obama was more interested in promoting a praying center at 9/11.

Our Veterans Fought, Suffered and Died for a Free Canada, Not An Islamic One

The two best ways to honor our veterans on this November 11 are to remember what they fought, suffered and died for in the first place and to refuse to surrender to those who want to take our hard-won freedoms away. Veterans went to war to keep freedom's light burning brightly, to keep it from being extinguished. Our freedom remains threatened to this day and their sacrifices would be in vain if we lost it, which is entirely possible.

UNESCO and Legal Realities

First of all let me say that this article is one of the most informative well referenced articles that I have managed to find concerning the UNESCO resolution. As an Australian, I am quite appalled at the resolution and am determined to write an informative, referenced letter to members of Australian parliament and other organisations.

Veterans Day 2010: Meet the challenge

The Climate Coincidence

By Dr. David Whitehouse It seems probable that 2010 will be in terms of global annual average temperature statistically identical to the annual temperatures of the past decade. Some eminent climatologists, such as Professor Phil Jones of the University of East Anglia’s Climatic Research Unit, suggest the global annual average temperatures haven’t changed for the past 15 years. We are reaching the point where the temperature standstill is becoming the major feature of the recent global warm period that began in 1980. In brief, the global temperature has remained constant for longer than it has increased. Perhaps this should not be surprising as in the seven decades since 1940 the world has gotten warmer in only two of them, and if one considers each decade individually the increase in temperature in each has barely been statistically significant. Only when the warming in the 1980’s is added to that of the first half of the 1990’s does the change exceed the noise in the system.
