Gun Control: ‘Those were the days’

The last episode of the hit TV show All in the Family was made in 1979. If the show were being produced today, it would never see the light of day given its lack of political correctness and the use of such language as “queers” and “#”. It is surprising it is still allowed to surface in reruns. Yet, it was praised when it first aired in the early 70s as being the first show to deal with serious issues facing society. And when it comes to one of the issues the show dealt with, gun control, not much has changed in the last 40 plus years.

Canadian politicians’ reactions to Orlando terrorist attack

Political leaders in Canada naturally reacted to the terrorist attack at the Pulse gay nightclub in Orlando that so far resulted in 50 dead and 53 injured. While Liberal pols reacted as expected, those political leaders who purport to be conservative also failed to mention the attack was carried out by a radical Islamist. If Donald Trump has any concerns about Canadian conservative leaders trying to emulate him, he need not worry.

Bestiality decision the fault of Parliament, not judges

On Thursday, the Supreme Court of Canada handed down a ruling that held any sexual activity between a person and an animal that does not involve penetration does not fall under the definition of bestiality and is therefore not a crime.

Heather Mallick: Anyone who criticizes PM’s wife is a bully

Sophie Grégoire-Trudeau, wife of what passes for the prime minister of Canada, has come under fire recently. She lives in free housing, complete with cooks, maids and other servants. In addition, the mother of three has two state-funded (that should read taxpayer-funded) nannies to help her with the children. And she has an assistant to help her although as the PM’s wife, she has no official duties.

Ontario premier reaches new heights in hypocrisy

Premier Kathleen Wynne is a proud liberal and Liberal whose mantra, like other leaders on the left is “do as I say, not as I do.” But her recent revelations about sexual harassment by members of her Liberal caucus drives this hypocrisy to a whole new level.

Wow! City of Toronto spent a whole $19,000 on Rob Ford’s funeral

The total cost will come in at more than the $19,000 the media is reporting because the cost of policing the funeral procession route has not yet been calculated. But we will use the $19,000 figure since that is what the liberal media is using in reporting it and implying it is too much money to spend on the likes of Rob Ford.

New York Post: ‘Doctors are flummoxed by Toronto crackhead’s cancer’

This was the headline the New York Post ran in Thursday’s article about former Toronto mayor Rob Ford. Underneath the headline it prominently says “By Fox News.” But Fox used another headline that read, “Doctors trying to determine next steps in ex-Toronto mayor’s cancer treatments.”

What David Duke has to say

The mainstream media has been obsessed over Donald Trump’s refusal to disavow the former Klu Klux Klan leader when interviewed on the weekend by CNN’s Jake Tapper. Trump did not disavow “Duke and the KKK” and later explained he had a faulty earpiece and did not hear the question properly.

It’s tough being a jihadist in Philadelphia

It has long rumoured that the tombstone of comedian W.C. Fields was engraved with the words, “Better here than Philadelphia.” That turned out to be an urban legend; all that is written on Fields’ gravestone is his name, date of birth, and the date he passed away.

The word 'refugee' has no meaning anymore

In the olden days, "refugee" or more specifically, "Convention refugee" had a specific legal meaning. That was before Western governments became enamoured with the migrants that were swarming into Europe from the Middle East.

Obama's Oval Office address--Canadians should be embarrassed

On Sunday night, Barack Obama addressed the American people and the world from the Oval Office. In his seven years in office it is only the third time he has formally spoken from his office, a tradition American presidents have used since Harry Truman's days as president.

No, not in Canada. Not in Justin Trudeau’s Canada.

Early Friday morning Toronto police received a call about a suspected impaired driver on the Allen Road in the city’s north end. When officers arrived, a black Mercedes was at the side of the road after being involved in a single car crash. No one was in or around the vehicle at the time. Not an unusual occurrence at that time of the morning.

And Justin Trudeau thought Stephen Harper was divisive

During the lengthy election campaign, Justin Trudeau kept referring to then-PM Stephen Harper as being “divisive.” According to Lil PET, he and the Liberals would unite Canadians rather than divide them. The Boy Blunder is not off to a good start.

It is now official—the world has gone crazy!

This craziness is not being caused by ISIS. Although the Islamic State is exceptionally barbaric (Sorry Justin for using that word), there have always been countries and groups throughout history determined to eradicate their enemies for a plethora of reasons and have carried out atrocious acts against other groups of people. What is different this time is not what ISIS is doing but the reactions and thinking of other governments and people.
