It's Tax Freedom Day (finally), but I don't feel very free

According to the Tax Foundation, today, April 21, 2014, is Tax Freedom Day. It's the day we have worked as a nation collectively to pay our total tax bill for the year. This includes federal and state income taxes for a combined total of $4.5 trillion.

An Easter message from President Reagan

Easter is far from a political holiday, but each American has been blessed to be a citizen of the freest nation this world has ever known.

Cliven Bundy and me: His treatment by the BLM reminds me of my experience with the IRS

I’m sure you’ve heard about this dispute in Nevada, where a rancher named Cliven Bundy was confronted by a virtual army of armed agents from the U.S. Bureau of Land Management. The whole thing is a dispute over very complicated laws concerning grazing rights, and the laws are too confusing for me to sit here and tell you who is right and who is wrong.

Redistribution of death (Part 2)

(Editor's note: Much of this commentary concerning the facts about ObamaCare was originally published September 23, 2013. We are updating it today because the Democrats are trying new tactics to make you forget about it, but it's just as true as it was then.) While the president and the Democrats try to suck up media coverage on phony income inequality, the minimum wage Trojan Horse, the race card, voter fraud, their Koch brothers addiction and other distraction tactics, we will continue to remind people about the destruction of our health care system and our health care cost system.

Here are the top causes of stress, and what you can do about them

I’ve been on this relieving stress kick lately, because stress can kill you. So when a study about stress comes out, I like to share it with you in the hope that it might help you detect the effects of this silent killer in your life

Relax, everybody, the Democrats just mispoke

"If I said 77 cents was equal pay for equal work, then I completely misspoke,” said White House economic advisor Betsey Stevenson. “So let me just apologize and say that I certainly wouldn’t have meant to say that.”

Gallup: Only half the number Obama's touting have gained health insurance

When President Obama goes around talking about 7.1 million people signing up for ObamaCare, you have to remember he's doing that because the administration established 7 million many months ago as the must-have number that would make it plausible for ObamaCare to work. It looked for months like they weren't going to get anywhere near that, and that prompted the all out marketing blitz that at least they claim got them over the bare minimum hump.

Democrat Congressman Keith Ellison: Dishonoring the memory of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

The mainstream media somehow managed to miss the demonstrations held April 4 – the anniversary of Dr. Martin Luther King’s assassination – in favor of the so-called “Robin Hood Tax.” I only learned about the planned demonstrations in 22 cities after I was asked to comment on the proposed tax on the Fox Business News show “Varney and Company,” which prompted me to do some research to know what this was about.

Working people are not celebrating ObamaCare

“This law is doing what it’s supposed to do. It’s working. It’s helping people from coast to coast.” - President Obama, April 1, 2014 That is what the president said after the close of ObamaCare’s open enrollment period on March 31. He touted that 7.1 million people had signed up for ObamaCare through the exchanges, and considered that a victory.

While I was away: Nothing changed, and ObamaCare is still a disaster

After speaking at the Oklahoma Association of Broadcasters annual luncheon on last Friday at noon, I headed further west for a long weekend to decompress from my daily saturation of the news. As a radio talk show host on air five days a week, I have to remain current on the topics and news of the day to share with listeners, to give listeners "the rest of the story", and sometimes the stories themselves that the mainstream media just happen to not report on.

Harry Reid: Why, I never said Republican stories about ObamaCare were lies

You have to see this one to believe it, folks. In fact, even that might not be enough. I've seen it, and I can't believe it. I yield to no one in my subterranean opinion of Harry Reid, but how can you . . . what could possibly lead you to . . . who would ever think they could get away with . . . just watch:

The six undeniable elements of the ObamaCare scam

The latest delay to ObamaCare - is it the 29th? the 30th? I can't keep track anymore - should leave no doubt in anyone's mind that this ill-conceived law is a complete and utter disaster. I don't think there is anyone left outside the partisan Democrat world (and the mainstream media, which is just another way of saying the same thing) who fails to sense that at this point.

Earth to purists: Give me an imperfect Republican over a 'perfect' Democrat any day

Last week a caller to my radio show opined about the problems of this Democrat administration and this Congress. The list of complaints was extensive. He touched on foggy foreign policy, a sluggish economy, joblessness, waste, fraud and abuse of taxpayer dollars, environmental extremism, lack of leadership . . . and the list goes on.
