In GOP, It's as easy as ABC; Anybody but Bush or Christie

With 21 months until the 2016 presidential race, the GOP field of candidates is large and impressive. Approximately two dozen prominent Republicans have expressed an interest in running for President. Most of the candidates are strong conservatives with solid credentials. Unfortunately, the field also includes two well known moderates, former Florida Governor Jeb Bush and New Jersey Governor Chris Christie, who both have the ability to raise large sums of money and become a major factor in the upcoming election.

Deflated balls are a problem for both the NFL and the GOP

The sports media has been in a tizzy covering the scandal known as “deflate gate.” After it was discovered that 11 of the 12 footballs used by the New England Patriots in their playoff game against the Colts were deflated, the media speculation has been intense about whether the Patriots altered the footballs to gain an advantage.

The Three Amigos of GOP Defeat in 2016

After six difficult years under Barack Obama, the country is ready for a change in the White House. The President has delivered a continual dose of no compromise liberalism that has divided the races and polarized the political climate.

Ringside Politics Champion of 2014: Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX)

In the horrific aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, Ringside Politics bestowed its first “Turkey of the Year” award to then New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin for his woeful leadership, bad judgment and embarrassing statements. Since then, we have been recognizing “turkeys” from both of the major political parties. For example, in 2014, we gave the “Turkey of the Year” award to a very worthy recipient, Republican House Speaker John Boehner.

Ringside Turkey of the Year: John Boehner

Each year during the Thanksgiving season, Americans enjoy turkey as the main course in cherished family dinner traditions. However, at Ringside Politics, we evaluate political or media “turkeys” who have been nominated for our annual award.

Republican Party Cowards

As time goes on, President Obama is becoming much more provocative with the GOP. For example, he met with congressional Democrats, but no Republicans, then announced his long awaited plan for executive amnesty, giving 5 million illegal immigrants a pathway to work permits and relief from possible deportation for 3 years. After getting shellacked in the mid-terms, Obama has not compromised with Republicans, he moved further to the political left.

Obama is the Anti-Clinton President

Despite his horrible treatment of women, perjury and serious moral lapses, Bill Clinton was a very good politician. He was at heart a liberal Democrat who adjusted his principles to the shifting political winds.

Obama is playing with matches

Obama is playing with matches
The mid-term election should have been a resounding wake-up call to President Obama to change from his liberal agenda and start working with an emboldened Republican Party. On Tuesday, the GOP took over control of the U.S. Senate, expanded its majority in the House and gained governorships in such blue states as Maryland and Illinois.

Senator Stereotype Haunts Louisiana

On this Halloween, U.S. Senator Mary Landrieu (D-LA) played a nasty trick on the voters of Louisiana. She reiterated the ignorant and inaccurate stereotypes of Louisiana and the South by strongly implying that people of her home state are both racist and sexist.

The Liberal Media's Palin Obsession

The Liberal Media's Palin Obsession
Since she burst on the national scene in 2008, the national media has enjoyed poking fun and mischaracterizing former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin and her family. The main reason for their obsession is that Palin is an unabashed conservative who is articulate and popular with millions of Americans.

Hollywood Star are so stupid they can't think properly!

Even in their darkest hour, Democrats can still count on one group to support them, Hollywood. The land of make believe is filled with hopelessly liberal fools who continue to give major donations to Democrat Party leaders. In recent days, Vice President Joe Biden, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and President Obama have benefited from lavish Hollywood fundraisers.

Ebola and Political Correctness will Kill Many Americans

Ebola and Political Correctness will Kill Many Americans
The epidemic that has devastated Western Africa has now arrived in the United States. In recent weeks, several infected healthcare workers have been flown back to the United States for successful treatment. However, a greater threat looms from ordinary citizens knowingly or unknowingly bringing the disease to our country.

Radical Islam, not Peace on Display in Moore, Oklahoma

President Obama and other politicians are fond of reminding Americans that Islam is a “religion of peace.” Unfortunately, that message is not getting across to the millions of Muslims that adhere to a radical branch of Islam that considers non-believers to be infidels worthy of death. Frank Gaffney of the Center for Security Policy and other experts estimate that 15% of the 1.6 billion Muslims worldwide believe in this violent form of Islam. This means there are approximately 240 million Muslims who want to kill Christians, Jews and “moderate” Muslims.

America on the edge

America on the edge
Today our country is in the midst of a battle for survival. We face a well armed and well funded terror army, Islamic State, which has grown to 31,500 fighters, including 2,000 from Western nations. In his recent national address, President Obama outlined a more aggressive approach to attack the terrorists in Iraq and Syria. Unfortunately, battling the terrorists in the Middle East is not enough. Due to our open border, there is little doubt the terrorists have infiltrated this nation.

Mary Landrieu and Her House of Cards

Mary Landrieu and Her House of Cards
This election has been most difficult for U.S. Senator Mary Landrieu (D-LA) with one mistake after another taking her off message. First it was discovered that she was charging taxpayers for at least four campaign flights. Her embarrassing mistakes were not something Louisiana voters should expect from a Senator with so much experience. Mary Landrieu has been in political office since 1979 and has served in the U.S. Senate since 1997. It is inexcusable for Landrieu not to know that taxpayers should not be charged for campaign air travel.

Republican Party Insanity

Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. Albert Einstein Unbelievably, the drumbeat is beginning for former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney to run for President a third time. The man who lost twice for President is now being encouraged by many party leaders to give it another try.
