The heartbreak of the last Space Shuttle flight

The last shuttle flight took off majestically with a plume of fire, disappearing into the clouds within forty seconds into its last man-made exploration, perhaps a fitting metaphor for its meteoric rise and fall. The crew consisted of three men and a woman, a precautionary move in case technical difficulties stranded them in space. It would cost the United States $63 million for each astronaut that the Russian Soyuz would return to earth. We have become mere passengers, taking a back seat to Russia’s leading role and military ambitions in cosmos.

Citizen U.S.A. The Reality

My American citizenship was an arduous journey, years in the making. It took mountains of paperwork on both sides of the Atlantic. Papers had to be translated from and into English, notarized, fiscally stamped, taxed, and approved. Appointments had to be made with various officials and officers of the law. Security Police interrogations and screenings were performed. Were you ever a Communist, how much debt did you have, did you have a savings account, did you have a job, who was going to support you, who was going to pay my medical bills, did I speak English, did I pass the American Government test, was I literate, and who was the president. And the questions never stopped until the American government was sure that I would not be a burden on the American taxpayers and would be a contributing citizen to this wonderful republic.

Islam’s Non-Existent Contribution to America

imageThe Alexandrian Library in Cairo was accidentally set on fire during Julius Caesar’s brief campaign in Egypt in 48 B.C. One of the scholars who worked at the Alexandrian Library was a woman named Hypatia, born in 370 A.D., the daughter of the mathematician Theon of Alexandria. She instructed students on Plato, Aristotle, Pythagoras, and other Greek philosophers. She was regarded as a pagan. One day, she was dragged from her chariot, stripped, and flayed alive with clam shells.

Since When are July 4th Parades Right Wing

imageWho can object to a patriotic parade but an irrational, anti-American progressive from Harvard who finds somehow that a 4th of July parade is a political stunt aimed at garnering new converts to the Republican Party? David Yanagizawa-Drott published his three key findings in a recent Harvard Kennedy School of Government study:

Part time profs now want in on unionization

I never liked reading the Washington Post because it is exclusively a leftist paper. However, there are views that are important to ponder in order to stay informed of the disastrous direction our country is being forced towards by a minority of Americans who lust to live in socialist Europe. I wonder why the left “suffers” in our “socially unjust” country when we would gladly buy them a one-way ticket to the communist paradise of their choice.

No Child Left Inside Act, Agenda 21 in the classroom

On June 21, 2011, the Maryland State Board of Education proudly announced that students must be environmentally literate before they can graduate from high school. Each child must receive a comprehensive, multi-disciplinary environmental education aligned with the Maryland State Environmental Literacy Standards.

Redistribution of Wealth

The Communist Party confiscated my grandparents’ and my parents’ land, homes, guns, jewelry, gold coins, paintings, wedding pictures, clocks, watches, bonds, stocks, tools, savings, and anything of value. They left my grandparents homeless. Grandpa and grandma had to build a barn-like structure made of mud and straw bricks, which they called home. My grandparents refused to relocate from the rural area into grey concrete apartment cubicles in the city. My parents chose the one bedroom apartment with its low rent, subsidized by the government.

White House Executive Order on Rural Council

On June 9, 2011, few people paid attention to the Executive Order establishing the White House Rural Council. It was several days before people started inquiring, prompted by a few articles on Agenda 21, including mine. This piece of legislation from the Oval Office establishes unchecked federal control into rural America in education, food supply, land use, water use, recreation, property, energy, and the lives of 16% of the U.S. population.

America, the Sinking Titanic

The Democrat Party is the proverbial iceberg floating on the vast ocean, approaching the mighty Titanic, the most developed, invincible, militarily and technologically able nation on earth, the U.S.A. America has much to fear. Democrat tactics are stealthy, deceptive, well organized, patient, manipulative, and treacherous.

Where does American Exceptionalism Come From?

I do not remember the term exceptionalism used in the seventies when I moved south. The word had been around for quite some time in political writings. I encountered people all the time who were proud of their heritage, their lilting southern accent, and Judeo-Christian values. They opened their homes and their churches to any newcomer, foreign or domestic, and welcomed them with a healthy dose of southern wit, apple pie, and fear of God.

Liberal Twisted Logic Why Gas is Expensive

Recently, two Washington Post writers, in a half-page spread resplendent with meaningless pie charts and graphs that even a high school student would laugh off, failed miserably to explain, “Why we feel pain at the pump.”

Demonizing America’s silent conservative majority from Canada

On May Day, the international holiday of communists, the Washington Post editorial used Jonathan Kay’s book, “Among the Truthers: A Journey through America’s Growing Conspiracist Underground,” to further besmirch and demonize the silent conservative majority of America. The left’s constant ideological wars against the taxpaying middle class and the job creators continue.

Agenda 21 and Obama’s Rural Council?

On June 9, 2011, an Executive Order established the White House Rural Council with 25 executive branch departments including Defense, Justice, Homeland Security, National Drug Control, Environmental Quality, Labor, Commerce, Interior, EPA, Housing, Health, Education to name just a few.

European Demographic Suicide

A recent interview with Neagu Djuvara, brought to the forefront the sad issue of cultural suicide by Europeans in the last thirty years. Statistical demographics prove that most western nations are not replacing their population at a rate higher than death rates and are thus galloping in the direction of self-extinction. The birth rate in various countries has dropped dramatically for Europeans while the birth rates of groups such as gypsies and immigrants from Africa and the Middle East are sky rocketing.

Obama’s Inflation

I enjoy shopping at my neighborhood grocery store. The shelves are always well stocked, there is a wide variety of food to satisfy even the most finicky palates, and prices are reasonable. Unfortunately, prices have steadily risen with each trip in response to the current administration’s expanding fiscal and monetary policies. My well-grounded fear is that shelves will be empty in the near future.

Obama’s Energy Policy

imageThe President exhibited incredible callousness and total disconnect from the plight of the American people whom he has sworn to serve and protect. He recently advised a young man who was lamenting the high price of gasoline, to trade in his gas-guzzler SUV for a better mileage car made by GM or Ford. What if the man had a large family and needed an SUV or a van to transport them? What if he could not afford to buy a new car?

Are we in Rome?

My husband and I were visiting the Coliseum in Rome three years ago. Our talkative and self-deprecating Roman tour guide, a rare find among boisterous Italians, commented, while pointing to the Coliseum, that he did not know what happened to Rome, they used to be such great architects, engineers, and builders. He added that they devolved into Italians who take months to complete a simple job. When projects are finished, they are full of errors, and every team member blames somebody else. We laughed in agreement, having spent time in northern Italy and having dealt with the ridiculous bureaucracy. We had spent once all day driving from one office to another just to pay a landline phone bill.

National Debt is a Threat to National Security

National debt is the biggest threat to our national security. Most people’s eyes glaze over when discussion turns to business and economics. Americans know we have a huge debt with lots of zeroes but have no idea how it grew so exponentially large, where it came from, who owes it, who owns it, or how many zeroes a trillion has.

Useful Idiots

During incipient communist regimes, the general population foolishly supported the wave of change that promised to fundamentally alter the balance of power and bring wealth and prosperity to the masses by expropriating and stealing from the “undeserving rich.”

Hope and Change, the Communist Way

I am in Washington, D.C. surrounded by expensive SUVs, Hummers, Mercedes, and “environmentally friendly” Priuses sporting stickers with Hope and Change, Socialism 2012, advertising socialism and communism, to the detriment of the “evil” capitalist system that afforded them those cars and a luxurious lifestyle.
