Stop denying climate science and ACT! (before people realize it’s a scam)

The full-court press is on. Alarmist scientists, politicians, pressure groups, newspapers, ministers, rabbis and bureaucrats want Americans to "stop stalling" on climate change. They demand that we embrace "revenue-neutral" carbon taxes and carbon dioxide regulations, before it's "too late" to prevent "catastrophic" global warming, "monster" storms and rising seas that will "inundate our coastal cities."

Mr Obama goes to Congress

After threatening to take shots at Syria, the president has now decided it would be proper to seek Congressional approval for lobbing a cruise missile across Syria’s bow or for doing whatever else short term military action he has planned.

We’re Turning Japanese Now

It's an article of American faith that Japan is an incredibly strange place. The world has been mapped and GPS'ed to death ruining much of the thrill of discovery. There probably aren't any hidden cities with remnants of lost civilizations lurking in the deserts of Africa or the jungles of South America. That just leaves the land of the rising sun as the X on the map, the strange place that suggests that the world that we know all too well, might still be odder than we can imagine.

Sometimes It Bees That Way

Ever so often a fellow stumbles into calamities worse than he could ever imagine. Consider mythological Actaeon. He and his dogs were hunting when he spied Artemis bathing in a stream. Red-blooded god Actaeon froze, staring at that stark-naked, gorgeous babe.

Obama needs to tell us how attacking Syria will improve the situation

I’m glad to see that President Obama will at least seek congressional approval before launching an attack on Syria, although he announced it in a rather disingenuous way – claiming he already has the authority to take action and then trying to sound magnanimous by going ahead and seeking the vote anyway.

Reader Response on Assisted Death

I recently applauded the Province of Quebec which is attempting to legalize assisted death. There is no better example of what’s wrong with the Charter of Freedoms when it does not allow freedom from pain on the death bed. I did not ask for reader response, but received a ton of it.

Obama Pushes Syria Intervention With Same Argument He Ignores On Iran

This article by Anne Bayefsky originally appeared on Breitbart.com. President Obama has turned to Congress to save him from staggering political isolation on the global stage. It is an isolation that is the inverse of the promise of a passionate and reciprocal multilateral embrace that carried him into office.

Syria - Obama Left Red-faced Over Red Line

President Obama has tripped over his own red line - leaving the prestige and authority of his Office and America's reputation in tatters.

TSA Annexes NFL

I never thought I’d live to see the day when you couldn’t bring more than 3 oz. of shampoo into a National Football League stadium. Over the years I’ve grudgingly accepted the ban on explosives, handguns, rifles and vuvuzelas, but this may be the last straw.

A United States Attack on Syria: Implications for Israel

On Wednesday, August 28, 2013, President Barack Obama and British Prime Minister David Cameron affirmed that a chemical weapons attack had taken place in Syria the previous week and "there was no doubt that the Assad regime was responsible."

Speakin’ Out: Mis-use of the military

I am now officially an anti-war activist, as long as the people leading our military are those who have opposed the military all their lives. Misunderstanding the proper place for the use of military force, they are simply posers, putting our troops in harm's way for some manufactured cause that they hope will make them look good.

Bashing Assad

Dithering Obama should heed these wise words of Napoleon.

On Fox News Sunday, Chris Wallace grills John Kerry about Syria

This morning, John Kerry appeared on Fox News Sunday, where he was absolutely grilled by host Chris Wallace. Central to the questioning was President Obama's sudden realization that the Constitution exists, and that it would seem to require congressional approval before the United States can start lobbing missiles into other nations. The President has said that - when Congress reconvenes on September 9th - he'll ask for that permission.

What is the real agenda?

It appears that the lack of support for action against Syria is that there are still questions as to who used the chemical weapons, the regime or the rebels.

A Vanity War

In Hollywood there is something known as a "vanity film." Vanity films are oh-so-important projects done by oh-so-serious actors and directors with a burning urge to do something "deeply moving" and "important," something that allows them to stretch their talents to the very limits of the creative envelope.
