Maria and Our Immigration Problem

Mar 17, 2019 — Dr. Ileana Johnson Paugh

Maria and Our Immigration ProblemThe short and stocky Salvadoran woman was very talkative in her unschooled English. She’s been in this country for twenty years. She had fled her native country for economic reasons; she paid a coyote $1,000 to bring her across the southern border with Mexico, her family’s savings.  She had promised to send money back every month and, once able to marry and have babies, she would wait patiently until she could claim legal residence and bring her extended family to the United States via chain migration.

She and Juan had four children and now, at the age of 40, her 18 year old daughter has given birth to an out of wedlock child who became an automatic U.S. citizen the moment he took his first breath, thanks to the anchor baby ruling twisted by liberal courts into a birthright citizenship under the 14th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution.

Communist Propaganda and Revisionist History

Feb 28, 2019 — Dr. Ileana Johnson Paugh

Communist Propaganda and Revisionist HistoryThe communist propaganda has intensified at a fever pitch. It’s not just the supine main stream media that constantly bombard us with scripted and highly subjective chats/gossip pretending to be “news,” canned and distributed by the same progressive owners of the mass media who order their minions to read the latest socialist Democrat talking points. The objective is to use irrational mob mentality in order to stir hatred towards our President and of anything remotely conservative or pro-America.

It is Hollywood that makes a living in capitalist America by reading their movie lines written by someone else, and acting on celluloid as they are told, influencing Millennials with brains full of runny grits, telling us in front of microphones that they are experts because of a movie role they’ve played. Their educational “expertise” is contradicted by their high school dropout status.

How Did America Become So Great?

Feb 20, 2019 — Dr. Ileana Johnson Paugh

How Did America Become So Great?Legal immigrants from around the world came to the New World to work hard, find land, and worship freely. Many died in the process during the arduous voyage across the sea, in the wilderness they were attempting to settle, from industrial accidents in factories they toiled in, from disease, or in battles with the natives.

All had to stop at Ellis Island for proper identification and quarantine when necessary. They were desperate but proud men and women who did not immigrate to become wards of the welfare system because there was none to be had. They had to work hard in order to survive. No hapless taxpayers were supporting the new arrivals and nobody waved the country’s flag from which they hailed. Most learned English as soon as they could no matter what level of education they had.

The Revenge of the Cradle

Feb 13, 2019 — Dr. Ileana Johnson Paugh

The Revenge of the Cradle“Do not allow America to fall as Europe has fallen.” – Katie Hopkins

The Sunday Times wrote ten years ago that a billionaire’s club had met secretly, at the initiative of Bill Gates, to discuss how their philanthropy could be used to implement “ways of tackling a disastrous environmental, social, and industrial threat” of overpopulation.  Ted Turner, Oprah Winfrey, Michael Bloomberg, Warren Buffet, George Soros and David Rockefeller Jr. were among those in attendance.  (May 24, 2009)

Their desires to curb overpopulation [over 7 billion now] met with Third World resistance as they believed that “contraception and female education weakened traditional values.” The focus shifted to the developed world: euthanasia, the destruction of the traditional family unit, and to abortion mills, passing infanticide laws as a “choice” in as many states as possible, even killing a healthy infant a minute before birth.

Channeling White

Feb 6, 2019 — Dr. Ileana Johnson Paugh

Channeling WhiteHaving been forced in my youth to wear a uniform designed by the communists who dictated our daily lives, every move and breath we took, you can imagine my dismay at seeing the Socialist Democrat women appearing dressed in white at the State of the Union (SOTU) address of President Trump last night.

Like a high school club of “beautiful girls” who reject the plain girls in class, this group of women was petty, sour, dour, attention-hungry, scowling, smirking disrespectfully, and displaying overt and in-your-face derision, setting aside any statesman’s decorum and propriety, barely engaging their “occasional cortex.”

Were they channeling the White Ladies of Havana, Cuba, who march in silence every Sunday after church to protest the communist regime on behalf of their fathers, brothers, and sons who were jailed and tortured by the Castro brothers’ totalitarian regime for their anti-communist beliefs?

Communism Making Comeback as Globalism

Jan 31, 2019 — Dr. Ileana Johnson Paugh

Communism Making Comeback as Globalism“We make men without chests and expect of them virtue and enterprise. We laugh at honor and are shocked to find traitors in our midst. We castrate and then bid the geldings to be fruitful.” – C.S. Lewis, The Abolition of Man

“It’s a brave new world,” one in which radicals are elected to high office in a system more corrupt and ignorant than ever imagined possible. The voters believe in the “shiny illusions of socialist/communist hell and are racing to implementation.”

Americans are not quite sure when the surge to communism finally planted its roots in the population at large and things began to change. Some argue it was the 1950s, others the 1960s. Over time, the corrupt main stream media and the progressive-controlled education system brought us slowly but surely to today when good people are overwhelmed by manufactured news and personal attacks meant to marginalize anyone who disagrees with the socialist agenda, while the entire system of liberty and justice for all is collapsing.

Expand Pharmacist Roles to Reduce ER Visits

Jan 15, 2019 — Dr. Ileana Johnson Paugh

Expand Pharmacist Roles to Reduce ER Visits
As I have recently experienced during a recent ER visit in northern Virginia, many cases presenting themselves are cases of sniffles of illegal aliens and their children who use the ER as their primary physician because ER visits are free to them, paid for by the U.S. taxpayers.

A seven-year study just released on January 10, 2019, by the University of Waterloo in Canada found that pharmacists could dramatically reduce ER visits by “incorporating them with an expanded scope into the community or hospital emergency departments,” thus reducing the overcrowding of emergency rooms (ERs).

Socialist Democrats and their Illegal Alien Brethren

Jan 13, 2019 — Dr. Ileana Johnson Paugh

Socialist Democrats and their Illegal Alien Brethren
On a print from 1886 of the Statue of Liberty someone wrote, “There is room in America and brotherhood for all who will support our institutions and aid in our development. But those who come to disturb our peace and dethrone our laws are aliens and enemies forever.”

Times have changed fundamentally since 1886. Liberal Americans and the socialist Democrats of today are fighting the rest of the country to remove our borders, to disarm law enforcement, to pay for illegal aliens’ free healthcare, education, housing, voting rights, and every other benefit American citizens have.

Millennials devoid of common sense and their radical socialist representatives like Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-New York) are openly calling for transforming our country into a Venezuela. It seems surreal that American citizens would want to live in the Twilight Zone of globalism or in a bad zombie apocalypse movie they so enjoy.

Obamacare Coined Older “Units” Seen To Last At The ER

Dec 30, 2018 — Dr. Ileana Johnson Paugh

older person, going to an ER room
As an older person, going to an ER room in Northern Virginia is an exercise in costly futility unless you are on death’s door or are prepared to wait for endless hours while younger people are being treated for colds, high fever, bleeding fingers and toes, and other accidents which occur in the exercise of our daily human lives.

Few Americans know or care that the Affordable Care Act of 2010 or Obamacare had labeled those over a certain age as “units.” If patients are young, they probably think themselves immortal - they would never get old, therefore such “unit” labeling does not apply to them. The stark realization hits you like a ton of bricks - you have become an older “unit” that can be ignored because government formulas deemed your utility to society too close to zero.

Brimming with Christmas Spirit

Dec 16, 2018 — Dr. Ileana Johnson Paugh

I met recently a young couple giddy with the jubilant spirit of Christmas. It was a rare encounter as Christmas traditions are under assault and condemned on the altar of progressivism and Islam. He wore a red and green elf vest and a Santa hat over his regular clothes and a big smile of good cheer. His lovely wife had donned a beautiful red dress with sparkling tinsel on the left collar. He told me how much he enjoyed Christmas and decorating trees which he left up every year late into January, even past the Russian Orthodox Christmas on January 6

We started talking and I told them about our Christmas celebration and our fir tree, thin and puny on branches and ornaments, but high on spirits. They listened politely but then I realized from the expression on their faces and the look in their eyes that neither one could relate to the description that followed.  They were millennial young and recently married

Investing in Church and State

Investing in Church and State
People in general do not seem to agree on much these days, split between their own confused ideas and the latest narrative promoted by the deceitful main stream media, beholden to the globalist ideology of Democrat Socialism and Cultural Marxism.

Often the thought processes of the voting masses are incoherent because their knowledge, the reality, and their basic instincts of survival and safety are perverted by the globalist agenda but they are too ignorant to realize that what they espouse is quite contradictory. So they vote into Congress frightening Millennials like Alexandria Occasio-Cortez, who will now have the power to fundamentally alter our collective future in the distorted image of her disordered and ill-informed mind.

USMCA Sneaking UN Law of the Sea Treaty Through The Back Door?

Nov 15, 2018 — Dr. Ileana Johnson Paugh

USMCA Sneaking UN Law of the Sea Treaty Through The Back Door
The legal dictionary defines sovereignty as “the power of a state to do everything necessary to govern itself, such as making, applying and executing laws; imposing and collecting taxes; making war and peace; and forming treaties or engaging in commerce with foreign nations.”

It is thus quite surprising that the new USMCA (United States-Mexico-Canada) trade agreement which is to replace NAFTA contains a new chapter (24) on Environment which was not in the NAFTA agreement. The three Parties recognize Sustainable Development (SD), the lynchpin of Agenda 21 now morphed into Agenda 2030, as an essential ingredient without which trade cannot exist.

Politics at the Beach

Politics at the Beach
I was hoping, that during our vacation, I could get away from politics and just enjoy the beach, the white sand, the sea gulls, the dolphins, and the Floridian sun-shine. But politics hit me in the face in one form or another in this area overflowing with snow-bird Democrats from New York, New Jersey, and Ohio.

Last year NGOs used young, beautiful, and half-clad women on the beach to advocate for legalizing marijuana.  This year we were assaulted by greens urging naïve pedestrians in affluent areas to fill out questionnaires to save marine life. Tugging at their heart strings, it was an easy sell for donations to various environmental and conservation groups.

Millennial Economic Confusion

Oct 21, 2018 — Dr. Ileana Johnson Paugh

Millennial Economic Confusion
A social media post captured my attention. A millennial was boasting about a recent home purchase. Nothing out of the ordinary, home ownership is a good thing and people take pride in owning their own place, private property is the bedrock of capitalism and freedom. This millennial was buying in one of the country’s most expensive real estate markets.

While boasting about a “privileged” status of people who could afford to buy homes because they had inherited wealth, the millennial opined that the system is rigged. This spurious “white privilege” system somehow suppresses black people who earn incomes considerably lower than whites.

Rule of Party of One

Rule of Party of One
It is upsetting to find out that a principal asked a high school student to remove his baseball jersey at a game where everyone was encouraged to wear patriotic t-shirts.  His white jersey sported the American flag, the name Trump, and number 45. The student had to remove the shirt deemed as making questionable political statements and inciting violence. It is hard to understand how our president’s name and number would incite violence. One may not agree with his policies but he is our president, governing over the best economy in decades.

Our Beloved Bogart Crossed the Rainbow Bridge

Oct 5, 2018 — Dr. Ileana Johnson Paugh

Bogart 2016
After a fitful night of sleep and crying, I woke up this morning imagining that I heard Bogart’s meow from his room. The house seems oppressively quiet and empty without him. The large candle I lit yesterday is still flickering on the mantle.

I opened the windows – the sun is up and the sounds of the forest are alive with the happy chirping of birds. The resident squirrels are busily collecting acorns from the large oak tree in front of the deck. They are not alarmed, the cat is away forever. It’s been a long time since Bogart had been able to chase squirrels, snapping turtles, or raccoons. Always fearless, he encountered a few foxes and a coyote in the woods, but came away unscathed.

The Prison that is Socialism

Sep 27, 2018 — Dr. Ileana Johnson Paugh

Imagine a large prison with beautiful mountains that you are not allowed to climb because you are too poor to afford the gear and you must get a permit from the warden. These mountains grow blue spruce and pine forests where bears and other creatures dwell but you cannot visit because important people are hunting brown bears and they’ve paid huge sums to shoot them under the supervision of the game warden.

If you wanted to hunt, it would not be possible because you did not have a license or a hunting rifle. Such weapons had been confiscated from the entire prison population long ago. But the warden and his men are well-armed and prepared to round up the bears or whatever God’s creatures his higher-ups were in the mood to slaughter for sport with their high power rifles.

Public Shaming of a Hoarding Comrade

Sep 9, 2018 — Dr. Ileana Johnson Paugh

Public Shaming of a Hoarding Comrade
People used to ask me what we ate when I was growing up in communist Eastern Europe. Women were quite thin and beautiful, on the “Ceausescu diet.” We were not just told how much to eat by decree but food was quite scarce and highly rationed. If a person dared to stash more food than the Communist Party deemed necessary, that person paid dearly in fines and eventually jail. Of course the elite class, in the classless utopia of a socialist country on its way to communism, had its own stores and food supply at low prices, never having to suffer the indignity of a rumbling empty stomach.

Offensive ‘Social Justice’ Corporatist Pandering

Offensive ‘Social Justice’ Corporatist Pandering
If I had a dollar for every young and ill-informed brat in this country who believes that our nation is oppressive and in need of a communist “social justice” makeover, supporting the benched quarterback who took a knee during the playing of our National Anthem, I would be rich.

It would seem that education would clarify the confusion these brats experience. However, since most educators are hard-core socialists and they indoctrinate every student who is unfortunate enough to enter their classrooms, to reject the very system under which their parents and grandparents have prospered.

America Fundamentally Transformed

Sep 3, 2018 — Dr. Ileana Johnson Paugh

America Fundamentally Transformed
In the spring of 2007 I was teaching a small class of non-traditional students, some as young as eighteen and some older than I was. It was an interesting mixture of blacks, whites, Hispanics, civilians and military who had jobs during the day and took classes at night to finish their college degrees. They were not the pampered and entitled snowflakes of today; they were hard-working Americans from all walks of life, some receiving Pell grants and some on military scholarships.

We always had interesting discussions as most brought their experience to class to contribute to our economic lessons. A few detracted from it with their unruly and disrespectful behavior. It was a bit too late to teach social manners to the two young black women who always arrived late, answered their phones in the classroom, and left often for bathroom breaks but returned with sodas, hamburgers, and fries from the nearby bowling alley.
