Zhuang was reportedly 'kidnapped' in a cyber-scam where his parents were extorted out of $80,000.

The new scam, which is called "cyber kidnapping," is becoming more common. Scammers convince people to 'kidnap' themselves and send fake ransom photos.

In this case, scammers convinced Zhuang to run away from where he was staying and camp in a tent in the hills of Riverdale, Utah.

The scammers convinced Zhuang to send them fake kidnapping photos which they used to scam his parents out of $80,000.

Riverdale police found Zhuang "cold and scared" but unharmed.
