Canadians who have difficulty accessing the healthcare system, finding an affordable housing or who are living in or close to poverty do not matter to this government. They simply are not a priority

Canadians are now second-class citizens in their own country

To begin with, the use of "Canadians" in this article is not restricted to "old stock;" people who are born in this country. It includes immigrants who are now citizens of Canada and legal permanent residents of Canada. Justin Trudeau and the Liberals have been in power a couple of days short of a month. In this short time period, Trudeau and his Liberal Party have shown their utter contempt for both Canadians and their institutions. Despite the fact Canada is not a world power and its military is not as powerful the US or China's, he was quick off the mark to degrade the men and women in Canada's Armed Forces and show what he really thinks about the country's military.
Shortly after Trudeau was sworn in, in a congratulatory phone call from Barack Obama he told the president Canada would be withdrawing from the bombing raids currently taking place over ISIS-held territory. This is the ‚"leader" who during the election campaign criticized the Conservatives for ‚"whipping out their CF-18s." The Canadian Armed Forces would apparently do a better job training Kurds and providing humanitarian relief than they would destroying Islamic jihadist targets. When it comes to battling Islamic terrorists, Canada will cut and run. His view of the military is one of the few times Junior appears to be just like Papa Pierre; usually he more resembles his druggy mother although the Liberal-loving media treats him as if he was conceived by a single parent, his father. If giving the military the appearance of running away from the fight against ISIS wasn't bad enough, some members of the Canadian Armed Forces were required, on relatively short notice, to vacate their barracks to make room for the thousands of Syrian refugees that Canada will accept on Trudeau's artificial timetable. Of course moving, even when forced to do it, is not part of their jobs so soldiers were required to move on their own time. For years there have been complaints about the number of homeless on the streets of major cities because of the lack of affordable housing. Suddenly there are plenty of housing units for the 25,000 people who will be rushed into the country by February. No problem. In the coming months, vulnerable Canadians now living in low income housing will undoubtedly be forced to vacate their residences to make way for Syrians. And it strains credulity to believe Canadians on waiting lists for subsidized housing will not be affected by the influx of these so called refugees.

The welcoming of refugees from camps in countries where they are away from the fighting and safe takes precedence under the Trudeau government to the health and safety of Canadians. Jane Philpott, Canada's Minister of Health, announced on Sunday that refugees with contagious diseases will be allowed to come to Canada as long their conditions are ‚"treatable." How they will be forced to obtain necessary medical treatment was not explained. For years we have been hearing about lengthy hospital waiting lists, hundreds of thousands of people unable to obtain a family doctor, and about how the healthcare system needs fixing. Suddenly, there are enough doctors and medical resources for these refugees who will suffer from not only infectious diseases but who will have other medical conditions and will need help for mental health issues common from having previously been in a war zone. Now apparently, our overtaxed healthcare system has sufficient room to treat these new arrivals. This is total BS and something will have to give. Canadians will take second place to the Syrians for scarce medical resources. And the government must realize ISIS terrorists will be among these 25,000 new Canadians. They simply do not care. Under a federal government program, refugees can apply for a government loan for up to $10,000 to aid in their resettlement. The Trudeau government announced the Syrian refugees will be exempt from having to pay these loans back. While the feds proudly say how all these newcomers will be an economic boon to the country, at least some will be able to financially establish themselves quickly. No matter what income level they achieve, these ‚"loans" will be picked up by hard working taxpaying Canadians. During the election campaign, Trudeau said his government would spend more money on infrastructure, which is code for simply spending money. In fairness to the "hair apparent," he never did say this money would be spent in Canada for the benefit of Canadians. So far the government has promised $14.25 million for infrastructure in Indonesia as well as $12.9 million for agriculture in Vietnam. Trudeau also announced spending $15 million to train youth in Africa. These amounts are exclusive of the $2.65 billion pledged to fight climate change. While no one expected foreign aid not to be increased by the free spending Liberals, the concentration of spending money on refugees and in foreign countries within a month of taking office shows that the well-being of Canadians is a low priority for this government. In other news, a recent report stated almost one in five Canadian children are living in poverty. Another report by the Ontario Association of Food Banks shows that in the province, the use of food banks is growing among seniors and singles. Yet the government's only concern seems to be people in other countries and of course, Syrian refugees. Canadians who have difficulty accessing the healthcare system, finding an affordable housing or who are living in or close to poverty do not matter to this government. They simply are not a priority. Canadian citizenship: It's not what it used to be.
