“All inclusive” LGBTQ Community Bans Dance Team With U.S. Flag Shirts

The hypocrisy of the left is so thick, you can cut it with a knife. The woke LGBTQ community that endlessly whines about inclusion and acceptance doesn’t seem to be capable of giving to others what they clamor for.

At an event in Seattle called the Emerald City Hoedown, one local dance squad was not allowed to perform because their uniform’s theme was the American flag. The Borderline Dance Team was told not to perform because some attendees felt “triggered and unsafe.”

A nonprofit group, the Rain Country Dance Association, hosted the event. The organization hosts events like this to introduce the “queer” community to country music and dance. Too bad the “queer” community isn’t as open-minded as they demand everyone else should be.

In a Facebook post, the Borderline Dance Team wrote:

“Unfortunately, what our team was met with upon arrival was that our flag tops were offensive to some of the convention goers. There was a small group that felt ‘triggered and unsafe.’”

The team added that some of the reasons people claimed to be offended were “the situation in Palestine” and the “trans community in America.”

“At first, we were told we would just be booed, yelled at, and, likely, many of them would walk out. This did not deter us,” the dance squad said. “But then we were given an ultimatum.”

Members of the squad stated that they were told to “remove the flag tops and perform in either street clothes (which most didn’t bring, as they traveled there in their uniforms) or they would supply us with ECH shirts from years past, or, don’t perform at all, which, effectively, was asking us to leave.”

“We don’t speak for our team, we speak on behalf of them, so the choice was theirs, as we knew would happen because there really was no choice in our minds. It was an unanimous NO. We all understood and accepted this and walked out with class and dignity despite the discrimination we had experienced,” the group’s Facebook post explained.

The event organizers were aware ahead of time of what the dance team's uniforms looked like. However, they edited the event’s webpage and eliminated the photographs of the team in their uniforms.

Another team, the West Coast Country Heat, also had patriotic uniforms and refused to perform. The Borderline team said, “Both of our teams stood in solidarity and put actions to words.”

Conservative talk show host Jason Rantz interviewed Borderline co-captain Lindsay Stamp, who stated that only a small percentage of attendees complained.

“My team doesn’t take a political stance. We came to dance. We’re a patriotic group. We support our military, our veterans, our first responders. We’re a group of patriots.”

The event didn’t address the incident specifically. Instead, they posted a nondescript statement about the performance. It read:

Hi, y’all! After the close of another amazing Hoedown weekend, we know there are some questions about the Saturday night performance line-up. We appreciate y’all giving us the time to clear up misunderstandings and address the situation with people directly involved. We will be posting a follow-up statement later this week once we are able to have those conversations.

They then discontinued comments.

Ziadee Cambier is the Rain Country Dance Association Board President. She posted on Facebook that the Borderline Dance Team wasn’t told to leave.

“We will be in continued communication with the captains of the dance teams that were slated to perform Saturday.” She posted:

“To clarify, as this was not a competition, no one was disqualified, and no one was asked to leave. While we are mending our relationships directly with the dance teams, we will be disabling comments on this post. We will be sharing more information later this week to hopefully clear up any misunderstandings.”

Stamp disagreed that this was not a miscommunication. In her interview with Rantz, she said:

“It’s pretty clear to me. There’s always room for error in any situation, but I don’t believe so.”

“I would just love to see more conversations opened about people accepting one another, about being wholly inclusive. You know, every group of people talks about being inclusive and accepting. And I think that we need to work on being inclusive and accepting of people outside of our immediate comfort zones. I would love to see that.”

It is quite astonishing that the team led by Stamp had to face discrimination, not because of their race, religion, or political beliefs, but because they wore the flag of our country. Even though the left tried to justify the situation by claiming that the team was not asked to leave, it is evident that when a team comes to an event wearing their chosen uniform and you tell them that they cannot perform in it, it is the same as expelling them from the event. In addition, what's even more infuriating is that only a small percentage of people complained about the team's uniform, yet the venue surrendered to their demands instead of standing up for what is right.

The left is inflicting its perversions on rational society and groups like the Rain Country Dance Association are allowing them to do it. I have said it before many times, and I am repeating it: the word that the left needs to hear often and loudly is NO!
