All this talk of the Russians hacking U.S. institutions in order to influence the recent election is difficult to believe. It appears to be true that somebody hacked the Democratic National Committee and exposed emails demonstrating the dirty tricks the DNC was involved in but nobody seems able to come up with actual evidence that the Russian government did much of anything.
All we keep hearing from the mainstream media is that unnamed sources in the intelligence community say it happened. Nobody goes on the record. This is exactly how intelligence agencies disseminate lies and cover stories.
Now the Left is throwing fits because former UN Ambassador John Bolton is daring to float the idea that the Obama administration is behind this mischief.
“It is not at all clear to me just viewing this from the outside, that this hacking into the DNC and the RNC computers was not a false flag,” Bolton told Eric Shawn on Fox News Channel. “So the question has to be asked, why did the Russians run their smart intelligence service against Hillary’s server, but their dumb intelligence service against the election?”
“The whole thing has been called into question, which is why the notion of some kind of independent investigation becomes extremely important,” said Bolton, who is being mentioned as a possible Trump nominee at the Department of State. “I do think it’s critical to answer the question that I posed: If you think the Russians did this, then why did they leave fingerprints?”
If Russia really was involved the United States “should retaliate.”
“It is unacceptable for the American Constitution to be assaulted by foreigners in that way. So it is absolutely critical as well that we get the facts right on this, and I don’t think we have anywhere enough in the public domain to know what the facts are,” he said.

Bolton said we need to know more.
“We would want to know who else might want to influence the election and why they would leave fingerprints that point to the Russians,” he said. “That’s why I say until we know more about how the intelligence community came to this conclusion, we don’t whether it’s Russian-inspired or a false flag.”
Obama lapdog Michael Smerconish tried to come to the administration’s rescue in a hostile interview with RNC spokesman Sean #.
“I’m also troubled by the idea that my president-elect, he’s going to be all of our president, is already throwing under the bus the intelligence community with whom he’s going to have to work on life and death matters,” Smerconish said. “Why aren’t we, as Americans, upset about the fact that a foreign hostile actor apparently put its thumb on the scale in our election, and why doesn’t Donald Trump want to get to the bottom of that as he takes office?”
Maybe the fact that 1) we have no idea if the Russians hacked anybody and 2) the CIA is somewhat unreliable and filled with left-wingers, have something to do with it.
