Obama: New barriers on the development of oil and gas resources, American Energy Independence

American Uranium Reserves Could Last for Hundreds of Years

Each and every passing day continues to prove over and over again that our own citizens are sabotaging our futures in so many different ways. Principal among those that are responsible for this destruction of the way we could be living are our highest elected officials, the very people who are given the responsibility for governing all of us.

Not all of them of course. There are many caring and eager to find the best way to meet the challenges of the coming years head on but their efforts have been thwarted by unthinking and uncaring pinheads that fail to recognize facts and continue to be manipulated by others who would be happy to see America destroyed. This latter group extends to the very highest levels of our government. There is a core group of politicians and academia who, for personal gain, deliberately distort the truth so as to favor themselves with more government taxpayer dollars for their continued shadowy research and status quo. How Al Gore figures into all of this puzzles me. He must be claiming some green for all his puffery, and I do mean “greenbacks.” But though Gore is the loudest mouthpiece for the swindle/hoax known as Global Warming, he is but one of many hoodwinked politicians who are siding with the scientists who earn their living by getting government funded grants for their so-called “work” at solving the so-called “problem” of global warming. This scheme to drain our finances for proposed “fixes” that are nothing more than ways to cripple our industrial output, is just one more of the ruses to also seriously bind our energy situation here in America. The environmentalists are working overtime to prevent our energy independence. The very thought of no longer being dependent on the greedy oil producing countries has their knickers tied in knots. Our dim-witted and totally complicit liberal politicians have placed strong barriers on the domestic production of oil for our energy needs. Oil reserves for this country both domestic and off-shore are significant, particularly when the shale-oil reserves in our western mountain states are considered. But the liberal Democrats and a few misguided RINO’s are adamant that these not be touched for environmental reasons. But I fear that the truth lies somewhere else such as in fealty to some foreign governments that have this powerful weapon at their disposal as long as they keep us dependent on them for oil supplies for America. It can’t be due to enviro efforts to keep animals safe, as Alaska has provided evidence that the drilling and pumping areas with their above ground delivery pipes are a boon to wildlife assets. Obama’s Secretary of the Interior, Ken Salazar, has just recently announced that he's placing new barriers on the development of oil and gas resources. This grossly unbelievable action is being forced on American consumers at a time when energy prices are surging to levels reminiscent of the days of $4. gasoline prices not too long ago. In January of 2009 when Obama usurped his way into the White House the average price of a barrel of gasoline was $33. Now after just one year in office the price of that same barrel has climbed to $83.18 with no end in sight. And sadly, Obama WANTS this. He has said that rising prices for gas will conserve consumption. That’s like saying that rising cost of food will cut obesity; by what about the rest of us? He doesn’t mind traveling all over the world in his jumbo jet and even sends his wife and family on their own jumbo jets to other places. Also, his lavish White House dinners of lobster and other high priced foods are on OUR tab. Enjoy yourself while you can Mr. Phony president, that real birth certificate has to come out of hiding soon. We also have a clique of Venezuelan dictator Hugo Chavez lovers that would rather see his brand of anti-Americanism continue to flourish both home and abroad through the petro-dollars we pay for his country’s oil. We also have many who would rather watch Fidel Castro and Red China’s oil rigs pumping for oil off the shores of Florida to finance intriguing anti-American initiatives all over the world, than to see OUR rigs out there helping to save money for us. These are the people who get on their soapboxes and spread their venom against nuclear energy in this country. Nuclear energy: the safest technology ever invented by man which this country has been using for over thirty years; and which has caused fewer fatalities in the United States than in one very prominent late U. S. Senator’s vehicle.
  • As the National Center for Policy Analysis (NCPA) reports in Energy Issues on January 04, 2010, “Nuclear power is a safe and reliable source of energy. Nuclear power is a safe and reliable source of energy.” The Center also promotes nuclear’s instant availability by convincingly stating, “At current rates of consumption with present technologies, uranium reserves in the United States can supply all of the world's existing reactors for 300 years. “
  • And as the Center further states, that’s before counting other methods that are currently prohibited in this country even while gainfully utilized in others such as “Recycling spent fuel would significantly decrease the problem of nuclear waste disposal; reprocessing can also be a boon to local communities and create jobs. Two reprocessing facilities in France employ 11,000 workers and generate more than $600 million for the local economy.”
Did you note that remark about creating jobs in local communities? And there would be no stimulus taxpayer funds needed. That alone would be a bonus to America. One last interesting tid-bit that the NCPA offers for our consumption should make even politicians sit up and take notice: “One kilogram of natural uranium, of which America has plenty, contains as much energy as 38.5 tons of coal, but conventional nuclear reactors only utilize approximately 3 percent of that energy, thus, recycling could provide an almost unlimited supply of nuclear fuel in the United States.” MY NOTE: One uranium kilogram is about the mass size of one litre of water; whereas just ONE ton of coal would leave a humongous mass if dumped in your driveway. 38.5 tons of coal in your driveway would be indescribable. Why are liberals always the last to learn the truth; and definitely the last to practice it?
