BLM and Liberal Press Bashing of American Cops Lead to Greater Gun Violence

The latest FBI report on gun violence in American cities, especially in specific liberal Democratic-controlled cities- discloses a very inconvenient truth. The relentless bashing and public criticism of urban cops by the activist BLM (Black Lives Matter), the liberal press+ liberal civic leaders have had the unintended consequence of producing a huge increase in black on black killings in certain visible minority cities. To be specific, we are talking Chicago, Baltimore, St. Louis, Charlotte and Milwaukee.
Yes, folks, Chicago where former Democratic President Barack Obama, then a Harvard Law grad/community organizer cut his political teeth. The very same Chicago is run by long-time Democrat Mayor Rahm Emanuel, former chief of staff to Obama. In 2016, Chicago, aka America’s Murder Capital, was home to a shocking 765 murders. A jump of over 86% from 411 murders in 2014. In 2015 there were more than 2300 shootings resulting in 478 murders. The majority of these murders are gun-related. The majority of the victims are black people being shot by not out of control gun-happy white police, but other black people. Ironically, both the state of Illinois and the city of Chicago are highly regulated gun control jurisdictions. Clearly, the experience of Chicago undermines the conventional liberal Democratic argument that tighter gun control leads to fewer gun-related deaths. Instead Chicago demonstrates all too clearly, that “guns in themselves don’t kill people”, but instead black dudes packing illegal “heat” kill people, mostly other black people. But Chicago is no anomaly. No aberration.

In each of Democratic Baltimore, St. Louis, Charlotte and Milwaukee, homicides increased dramatically from 2014-2016. In 2016 Baltimore experienced 344 murders- a 60% increase from 211 in 2014. The common thread in each of these five Democratic cities was that each city from 2014-2016 experienced civil unrest arising from the unfortunate shooting of black men by the police. The effect of this unrest was that entire police forces in these cities were unfortunately pummeled publicly by BLM, a biased press and city officials, for the actions of a few bad apples. These same police were accused of being racist and bigoted especially if these police did their job and questioned suspicious black dudes hanging outside in known drug areas late at night or early in the morning. Consequently, the cops in these cities backed off aggressive and pro active policing in high crime minority neighborhoods. Instead of engaging with potential criminals and potentially deterring their activities, the police chose to ignore these situations. The reasonably foreseeable result of this police disengagement- criminals were emboldened.

In the absence of police participation- robberies, shootings and homicides have soared in these cities and other similar cities. There is a clear causal link between the decline in the number of police stops and the rise of shootings and robberies in black neighborhoods. The good news is there was a decline in police arrests and police-related shootings. The bad news is that robberies and shootings have shot up rendering these black neighborhoods very dangerous places to live. For those black families, who have the means, they are fleeing these drug-infested, black gang-controlled hellholes for safer cities in the south- such as Atlanta. For those black families who cannot escape these crime-ridden cities, there is a renewed interest in police protection of their communities. Because BLM has become to mean more accurately, BLAKM (Black Lives Are Killed More).
