The DREAM Act that would grant a “pathway to citizenship” for the children of illegal aliens was defeated, and according to a piece written by the Miami Herald’s Melissa Sanchez and another by the Associated Press, it was the Republicans’ fault.

Senate Republicans on Saturday doomed an effort that would have given hundreds of thousands of young illegal immigrants a path to legal status if they enrolled in college or joined the military.
I understand writers aren’t always in control of headlines, but as the Senate GOP has only 42 votes and DREAM was defeated with 51, it would have been more accurate to say Democrats were the ones to block the DREAM Act, but that would be fair.
