Business Roundtable comes to on EPA climate rules

America’s CEOs have finally realized that President Obama is not their friend when it comes to the EPA.

In a recent media release, the CEO trade association known as the Business Roundtable yesterday,
… strongly urged the Obama Administration and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to abandon their efforts to regulate greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from stationary sources under the Clean Air Act in order to give Congress the time it needs to develop an appropriate legislative solution that will address the risk of climate change while preserving U.S. economic growth and international competitiveness.
OK so the BRT is a little late to the party. It was a supporter of cap-and-trade as well as other pea-brain initiatives like the stimulus and ObamaCare. And then it missed the recent Senate vote that would have blocked EPA regulation of greenhouse gases. But let’s give it a break. If the BRT member CEOs were so smart, after all, they wouldn’t have allowed their companies and our country to be taken over by communists extreme environmentalists. America is circling the bowl thanks in no small part to the BRT’s boneheaded CEO members. So let us rejoice that the BRT has made some progress on greenhouse gas regulation. It still has a long way to go as BRT president John Engler still pays lip service to the need for Congress to act on greenhouse gases. At least the group is vectoring in the right direction.
