Conspicuously missing from the Sign of the Cross mockery highlighting this year’s Turkey presidential “pardon” was Michelle Obama.  Giggling girls and an audibly gobbling turkey were there, but Michelle was noticeably MIA.

People were asking “Where is Michelle” in comments to the turkey presidential pardon story, posting that Michelle has been strangely absent since Election Night.

Ou est, Michelle?

Could it be that she’s as Dub of Ridin’ Out the Recession fame says,  “in trainin’”, hitting the White House gym to hone up the upper arms of which she is so proud?

Canada Free Press (CFP) posits that she is more than likely preparing for ‘The Big Gloat’.

The Obama Inauguration will dovetail with Martin Luther King Jr. Day, on Jan. 21, 2013.

With Thanksgiving and Christmas behind them, and so many Americans facing economic worries in the official kick-off to Obama’s second term in office, what better time to demoralize the roughly 50 percent of Americans who did not vote for Obama?

Michelle is working in the background to ensure the success of ‘The Big Gloat’ on her husband’s second depressing Inauguration Day.

Will she appear at the Inauguration Ball bejeweled and be-feathered for the Victory Dance?

Will she be escorted to the groaning table of the inauguration feast by Obama election apostle Bruce Springsteen and New Jersey Governor Chris Christie?

“According to the Joint Congressional Committee on Inaugural Ceremonies (JCCIC), the governing body that coordinates presidential inaugurations, Obama’s second-term inauguration will take place on Jan. 21, which is Martin Luther King Jr. Day.  Traditionally, Inauguration day is on Jan. 20; however, that date falls on a Sunday next year, pushing the ceremony to Monday. (Amsterdam News, Nov. 15, 2012)

“It will be the second time that this federal holiday has coincided with a presidential inauguration,” said officials from the JCCIC.  “The first was President Bill Clinton’s second inauguration in 1997.”

Imagine.  Clinton is Democrat-remembered not for losing his license to practice law or the Monica Lewinsky affair but because his 1997 inauguration happened to coincide with a federal holiday.

The Obama regime was counting on a November win as early as last summer as that’s when they appointed U.S. Sen. Charles Schumer as chairman over the festivities.

“The inauguration is a time for our country to come together around our president and celebrate the strength of our democracy,” Schumer said.  “I am honored to have been selected as the chairman of the festivities and look forward to organizing a ceremony that will showcase the best that America has to offer.”

“Construction of the coveted inaugural platform began in September as the “First Nail Ceremony”.  This will mark the 57th presidential inauguration in the nation’s history.”

With Obama’s Fundamental Transformation of America all but guaranteed with a second term, you’d think that politicos would come up with a name less ominous sounding than the “First Nail Ceremony”.

But back on Sept. 20 with elections just a couple of months away, the chance for goofing around on camera was an opportunity for prized photo ops. (Roll Call Sept. 20, 2012)

“A crowd of staffers and stakeholders gathered on the West Lawn of the Capitol today to watch the Joint Congressional Committee on Inaugural Ceremonies hammer the first nails into what will eventually be the 2013 presidential inauguration platform. Though lawmakers who serve on the committee organize, along with their staffs, the minutiae of the pageantry surrounding the inauguration, it is the Architect of the Capitol’s office that oversees the logistics of creating enough space for the festivities to actually take place.

“The inaugural platform, built from scratch on top of the West Front Fountain every four years, is where the president- elect and the vice president-elect take the oath of office. It holds more than 1,600 people, including former presidents, Members of the House and Senate, cabinet officials, justices, joint chiefs and diplomats.

“The AOC’s involvement dates back to the 1860s, when the presidential inaugurations began to involve more public participation and arrangements were made to make the event more accessible to the people,” AOC Stephen Ayers said today at the “first nail ceremony.”

“The event was only the second public meeting of the committee since it convened in March. The members are, as tradition dictates, culled from House and Senate leadership, with Senate Rules and Administration Chairman Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) at the helm.

“The other members of the committee are: Senate Rules and Administration ranking member Lamar Alexander (R-Tenn.), Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.), Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio), House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-Va.) and House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.).

“The lawmakers lined up behind the narrow sheet of wood, each equipped with a hammer and nail that had only just been secured into the material’s surface. Before the ceremonies began, pleasantries were exchanged and Ayers unscrolled the blueprint and pointed out details of the platform’s design.

“At one point, Boehner picked up a hammer and pretended to threaten his colleagues with it. Schumer turned around and gave the thumbs up to the eight members of the construction crew who stood in hardhats behind them.

(Hope Boehner is more fun out on the golf links.)

“The actual event lasted for about five minutes. Ayers and Schumer said a few words and then each Member hammered a nail fully into the wood. Pelosi finished her handiwork after her colleagues and enjoyed their playful ribbing.

“Every four years, the Capitol is the home to a beautiful celebration of our democracy: the inauguration of the president of the United States,” said House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi.  “With the First Nail Ceremony, we begin to ready the Capitol for a ceremony that will honor our Constitution, respect the decision of the American people and renew our patriotism: the 57th swearing-in of the president of the United States,” Pelosi chirped.

“Inauguration Day will commence with its usual scheduled event including a morning worship, procession to the capitol, a parade and various balls.  Obama will be sworn in at noon, followed by his inaugural address.

“Senators and representatives of the U.S. Congress will distribute tickets for the inaugural swearing-in ceremonies, which are free.”

The best news about the inaugural celebrations and Michelle’s Big Gloat is that the 50 percent of the American population that the Obamas, Pelosi, Schumer et al pretend don’t exist can do the same for them.

The post-election mantra for the ‘Don’t-Tread-on-Me’s’ survival is “Family First, ‘First Family’ last.
