Ontario Premier Doug Ford says his government will be introducing legislation to require a referendum on any future carbon tax in the province.
Ontario is currently subject to the federally imposed
carbon tax since it doesn’t have one of its own, as required by federal
regulations and upheld by the Supreme Court. Provinces that have their
own carbon tax system, such as British Columbia, aren’t subject to the
