COLA for Social Security recipients

Have O-Dems made an election purchase yet?

On Friday October 14, 2009 an announcement was made that a COLA for Social Security recipients would not be made for 2010 and 2011. The Obama White House began calling for a "$250 relief payment to seniors and other Americans to stem the economic strain". This columnist wrote at the time it was in reality a cover up for $500 Billion being taken out of Medicare and Medicaid in the up coming votes in Congress on the Health Care Bill. After all we seniors were among the most vocal opposing the health care bill. (TO GIVE SENIORS AN EXTRA $250 BRIBE? on 10/17/2009)

So as not to confuse that date with the same call for $250 for seniors and other Americans, again we were reminded of the 2011 COLA cancellation. Again the Obama White House announced he would be pushing Congress to pursue $250 for seniors, veterans and people with disabilities payments to make up their loss. His indication of Nancy Pelosi's cooperation in the House on her return from the November 2nd election's, however, was offset by his uncertainty in the Senate. His announcement came this past Friday October 15, 2010. This year however, the diversion by showing his sympathy for the plight of others is being used for a different purchase. Last year’s purchase was what he must have looked at as soothing "The Savage Beast" in the Senate who were being bombarded by the many that were against the passage of the health care bill. This year I believe his motive is even more deviant. He's trying to buy the Votes and the Election in the last minutes of the 2010 mid term election. It is also my belief that the timing tells it all. October 15, 2010 amounts to 1 year and a day. Remember when in school as children, we learned in Civics class that a massive loss of rights happened when a person was in prison for a year and a day. Well my intention is to not go to prison, not for a year and a day or any time. My vote can't be bought. The timing to me is symbolic.
