Massachusett’s pilot program has been a fiscal train wreck

Is Obama Care Doomed to Be A Repeat of Mass-Care

For the past few days our usurper-in-chief has been playing the role of Court Jester on television while pumping his more than likely illegal healthcare bill. This charade of going against time honored traditional methods of getting laws tailored and approved is nothing more that a slap in the face to a majority of American citizens.

Poll after poll has produced numbers exceeding fifty percent of Americans voicing their disapproval of the Democrats’ plan that got the rush through the congressional voting process, totally ignoring that majority’s wishes for a halt and many concessions. The funny man who sits in the Oval Office thinks he is above and beyond the many millions of American real citizens who disfavored the enacted plan. Being the tough and wise guy type, he failed to connect with that over-fifty percent majority and even belittlingly challenging the Republican leadership’s intentions of trying for repeal to “bring it on.” He is so pumped with his own importance, now that he has finally done something other than destroy America’s financial system and amass super-level debts, for those same citizens he disparages and mocks from on high. Obama’s pigeons, subject to his derisions, may yet get the last laugh because his newest brainstorm of “I know what’s good for the people” healthcare fiasco is full of glitches and loaded with controversial and untraditional, or unconstitutional mandates fit for a tyrannical dictator. It could come crashing down on his head in short order. One only has to look a few hundred miles to the northeast to find a boondoggle of similar proportions in the Mitt Romney Massachusetts health care debacle. Just today, March 27, 2010, I received a notice that the Wall Street Journal online had published a piece by Timothy P. Cahill, State Treasurer of Massachusetts, titled “Massachusetts Is Our Future – Massachusett’s pilot program (healthcare) has been a fiscal train wreck.” Cahill states that “White House Senior Advisor David Axelrod hailed the Massachusetts health-care program as the ‘template’ for the national health-care reform legislation the president signed into law earlier this week.” Cahill further opined, “That should be cause for serious concern about this law’s ability to improve our health-care system at an affordable cost.” In calling the Mass. pilot program a “fiscal train wreck” Cahill should be listened to as who would know better than the state treasurer. He is the person who pays the bills for anything and everything the state legislature gets approved by the governor as state law. The Massachusetts state health-care program which became law in 2006 while Mitt Romney was governor was to be an $88 million a year deal, but in its first four years, costs have exceeded $4 billion according to the State Treasurer who is currently running as an Independent for Governor. The current Governor, Deval Patrick’s office has recently announced that there is shortfall of $294 million related to health-care costs. Fortunately for Massachusetts’ health-care plan it can fall back on the federal government Medicaid reimbursements and commitments to partially bail them out. But, those are federal dollars paid by citizens of all fifty states for federal purposes and once again, a state run boondoggle and loser program has to be made up by citizens of other states who shouldn’t be liable. And as Mr. Cahill states and asks: “The only reason MassCare has survived is that we have been repeatedly bailed out by the federal government… But who will bail America out if we implement a similar program?” And Cahill is right; we probably should consider ourselves lucky that no other state was foolish or imprudent enough to push legislation that would have given them an unwise and illogically fiscal nightmare of mass myopia health care. I mean, how many entities do we have to bail out of financial situations that are caused by the feeble-mindedness of their own making? Obama seems to have a limitless desire to just throw money away as it suits him. He, Obama that is, has got to be stopped with his profligacy and uneducated bankrolling of anything any Democrat proposes. The Republicans don’t even have to build a case for dismissal of all Democrats in the November elections; it is being done for them by Obama and his errant staff advisors and his servants in Congress. Enough already; come back to earth before the United Nations smothers us with their greedy land and people vacuuming. Repeal the Obama health care plan before it goes any farther.
