Let us Teach Clueless Liberal Hollywood Stars How to Read Again

I blame the Russians for blackmailing the PriceWaterhouse accountant and forcing him to give the wrong envelope to Warren Beatty, who was then clearly drugged by the Commies to award the Oscar for Best Actor to Donald Trump. Okay, I obviously meant how Beatty/Dunaway originally screwed up by awarding Best Picture to “La La Land” and then had to reverse themselves and re-award the Oscar to the producers of the film “Moonlight.” Of course, any thinking person, looking at an envelope which says Best Actress and a card which says Emma Stone wins best actress, would say, hold it, I have the wrong envelope and card for Best Film. But both Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway, both great actors in their prime (“ Bonnie and Clyde”, “Shampoo”, “Reds”, “Chinatown,” “Network”) failed to properly read a simple envelope and simple card, thus producing the most embarrassing moment and one of the worst moments in Oscar award’s history.
For the befuddled Beatty, this was worse than his infamous buddy film “Ishtar,” one of worst critical and financial bombs in Hollywood history. The “Heavens Gate” of very bad Hollywood flicks. But I digress. If these actors can not read a simple card properly, why should we, the paying public, listen to their politics and their pathetic and ill-informed anti-Trump pontifications? These actors make a living reading other people's words. And in the case of Beatty/Dunaway, they could not even do that. This was an epic epic fail. For millions of Americans, Canadians and Europeans, who do not share the politics of these self-entitled, gated, wealthy, out of touch Hollywood elitists, it was sweet sweet Karma. The name of the game is show business. It is both a show and a business. And this was the second worst viewed Oscar show in the last 30 years, 32.9 million, second only to when Jon Stewart hosted in 2008.

Everyone is of course entitled to their political opinions. But many millions of Americans stayed away from this Oscar show because they expected that unfunny predictable jokes would all be directed against their beliefs, their values and their duly elected president. I did watch the show from beginning to its horrible end. And it was bad in many parts. I counted at least 15 different times where Kimmel or Oscar winners bad mouthed Trump basically all restating the same boring claptrap, without any wit or cleverness. Kimmel is a horrible, no-talent entertainer. He was smug and smarmy. His overly long unfunny jokes about his fake hatred for Matt Damon, is just pure insider Hollywood stuff. Hollywood's awkward and condescending attempt to reach out to real average working people in that Hollywood tour bus, was also too long, humorless and cringe worthy on so many different levels. In short, Hollywood was so wrapped up in using this platform to hit out at Trump and his millions of American deplorables, that it failed to put on an entertaining show and it could not even properly announce its most important award, the best picture winner without falling on its face badly in front of the whole world. By the way, Sony wrote off $1 billion dollars this year from its film division and Paramount Pictures lost $500 million. Hollywood will survive but it will not do well if it continues to alienate millions of its paying customers with ideologically-driven drivel. Or with warmed over, unoriginal super hero sequels. #OscarsSoIncompetent
