Russia has been America’s “Boogeyman” for decades. I could get into that subject on several levels, but that discussion can be for another time. For many people, the USSR/Soviet Union/Russia has represented a riddle wrapped in a mystery inside of an enigma. Like any powerful country, they have been secretive and tight-lipped on many things, but there is one subject that they have been very clear and upfront about. That subject is their clear opposition to the idea of public displays of anything LGBTQ.
In November of last year, in a closed hearing, the Supreme Court ruled in favor of the Justice Ministry’s lawsuit accusing the “LGBT movement” of inciting social and religious discord. Under Russian criminal law, participating in or financing an extremist organization is punishable by up to 12 years in prison. A person found guilty of displaying such groups’ symbols faces up to 15 days in detention for the first offense and up to four years in prison for a repeat offense. The authorities may include individuals suspected of involvement with an extremist organization in the countrywide “list of extremists” and freeze their bank accounts. People deemed to be involved with an extremist organization are barred from running for public office.
Not surprisingly, Tanya Lokshina, associate Europe and Central Asia director at Human Rights Watch, had her own conspiracy theory.
“The authorities’ move apparently serves a dual purpose. It is meant to increase the scapegoating of LGBT people to appeal to the Kremlin’s conservative supporters before the March 2024 presidential vote and to paralyze the work of rights groups countering discrimination and supporting LGBT people.”
No Tanya, I think that the Russian authorities have had enough of this so-called movement that celebrates degenerate behavior in all cases and the flat-out denial of science and biology in other cases. In fact, on Friday of last week, the authorities took the gloves off totally and officially declared the “LGBT movement” a “terrorist organization.”
Russia’s Federal Financial Monitoring Service (Rosfinmonitoring) expanded its list of persons and organizations involved in extremist activities or terrorism and the list now includes the LGBT movement.
According to the law, banks must freeze the funds of persons included in this list and suspend services to them. However, according to Interfax sources, the law “does not affect the right of citizens to privacy and will not entail any negative legal consequences.” The restrictions are related to the need to comply with the ban on “LGBT propaganda.”
The ban includes advertising, generating interest, and involvement in the LGBT movement. This is over and above the 2022 ban concerning “LGBTQ propaganda” being exposed to minors. At the time Vyacheslav Volodin, the speaker of the State Duma, said that the ban would shield “our children and the future of the country from the darkness spread by the U.S. and European states.”
Last month Vladimir Putin made it clear that Russian authorities do not have issues with what community members do in their personal lives. That said, he asserted that it becomes an issue when they “flaunt it” in public.
Putin emphatically warned that the “LGBT movement” must never involve children otherwise there would be severe consequences.

Say what you may, but I agree with this stance 100 percent. I could not care less if a person is a lesbian or a homosexual, as long as you are not flaunting it in public with flags, parades, and festivals. Those displays are not seeking acceptance, they glorify an abnormal alternative lifestyle and are asking those of us who are straight heterosexuals to condone it.
The left needs to realize that difference. Accepting that someone has chosen an alternative lifestyle does not in any way mean that a person condones it. The two trains of thought are mutually exclusive of one another.
Transgenderism is an entirely different thing. It is a figment in the minds of mentally ill people. I have consistently stated that if someone believes they are suffering from the woke delusion of gender dysphoria, they need mental help and not encouragement or acceptance.
The very idea that someone can change their biological origin because of the way they “feel” is ludicrous. The left-wing extremists in this country and other Western nations know this. They are simply using it to their advantage to create a chaotic wedge within society. Transgenders like zombies are a fictional concept and Russia and other countries who recognize that mental instability within a citizenship cannot be tolerated are 100 percent correct.
They say that even a blind squirrel finds a nut occasionally. Similarly, even a perceived Boogeyman isn’t wrong about everything.
