Only in the U.S. would there be such agonizing over where terrorists should be tried and how they should be punished.

Terrorists are not enemy combatants, which is an honorable term, neither are they ordinary criminals. They are terrorists, period! Convicted terrorists, along with traitors, should either be executed by a military firing squad, or confined for life, literally, in a special prison in the wilds of Alaska where there would be no possibility of escape.
