Let’s talk a little common sense. Political talk and endless analysis of Libya and the Middle East on TV is making my eyes get stuck in the back of my head. Let’s just cut to the bottom line, shall we?
America should have become energy Independent several decades ago. It has and is a national security issue. In researching the book I’m writing on now, The People’s President, I have educated myself as to our energy situation to find out what is really going on. Here are just a few nuggets that will make you want to buy stock in Tylenol.
We need and use a ton of energy. According to T Boone Pickens, Texas oil man and natural gas expert, America uses 25% of the oil produced throughout the word and we import 68% of our oil. To be fair, we also represent just 4% of the population. We need to conserve but we do need energy.
The top five countries we import oil from are Canada, 18.61%, Saudi Arabia 14.50%, Mexico 14.07%, Venezuela 11.48% and Nigeria 10.80%. Smaller importers of oil to the US include Angola, Iraq, Algeria, Ecuador and Kuwait. This translates to OPEC countries making up 53.85% of all U.S. oil imports.
In case you hadn’t noticed, the Middle East is not exactly stable these days.
In 1976 we went from 18.6 million barrels of oil a day to 16.8 million barrels of oil a day. Back in 1981 we had 325 oil refineries and now 149. Many of these went under because they were inefficient while others were dependent on Government price control programs that finally stopped.
What is the bottom line with us not drilling for oil ourselves?
We have more than enough oil in many locations if we would just drill new refineries or expand what we have. We have oil in Alaska, California, Coastal Florida, Coastal Louisiana, North Dakota, Wyoming, Colorado, Kansas, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania and Texas for starters. Any questions?
A new oil refinery would cost between 4-6 billion to build and probably take 3-4 years to build. How many hundreds of billions has Obama and the progressive left wasted on pay outs to big Union guys, AIG types and idiot programs? It isn’t the money we don’t have as a country. IT IS THE LACK OF WILL WITH THIS ADMINISTRATION TO SERVE AND HELP THE US. Obama has a will alright. It is to control us, crush our spirit of exceptionalism and leadership, rob us blind and make us lost in a sea of countries controlled by the UN and globalist agendas.
Now we hear more and more how this new war in Libya we have now jumped in on the coat tails of the French, British and UN is about oil. Hats off to Doug and Joe Hagmann who nailed the global elitist and oil agenda regarding the attack on Libya. Check out their article. We aren’t in Libya to help the freedom fighters and people desperate for freedom.
If Obama was concerned for the health and welfare of freedom fighters and civilians he would have done something real to intervene and stop the murders and massive arrests against the Green movement in Iran in 2009. He did nothing but speak a distant and quiet rebuke. If Obama cared about human rights he wouldn’t have given Hamas, an Islamic terrorist group with a history of attacking Israel, 900 billion dollars. If Obama was so concerned about freedom fighters in Libya, he would have opened his silent mouth regarding the suffering and oppression around Costa Rica, when Calero Island was viciously occupied by the Sandinistas last November. There was no Obama crying, talking or praying for them.

We have heard speech after speech from Obama and his leftist administration how he is not for us drilling for oil, environmental this and money that. In fact, after the BP spill the oil well of independence and drilling for America was poisoned even further. Yet, interestingly, Obama has been kissing up to Brazil and has given them 2 billion to drill for oil. The kicker here that is beyond insanity are his recent comments where he said he wants to help develop Brazil’s offshore resources so America can one day import its oil from them. Have I lost my entire mind?
Obama’s lack of leadership and continued damage to America is impeachable. Just think what 2 billion could have done to either expand 2-3 refineries making oil for America or have a brand new refinery half built.
Importing is NOT what America needs anymore of. Real leadership in the White House would make it front and center to build energy independence, developing all the energy we have, oil, nuclear, natural gas, solar and alternative fuels. This should have been accomplished decades ago. I can’t blame it all on Obama.
Our energy plans and plants should be built, updated, enhanced for safety and efficiency, WHILE attending to the environment and animals! I don’t want anymore bridges to nowhere and studies of condom use in African males. I want energy independence and cheap fuel for my car!
My prediction is that if we spent 2-300,000 billion to do just that and develop ALL our energy facilities, we would create 100% of the energy we need and more so. We would be exporting our extra energy and be making a ton of extra money for the country while our gas prices would go down.
Obama must be in heaven as our gas prices soar in some places above $4.00 now. Remember, way before he was even elected he said he looked forward to the day when our gas prices got up to $5.00 a gallon. While he was on an inspirational roll, he also said he wanted to bankrupt the coal industry which has been a mainstay and one of our largest energy providers since the beginning of our country. One quarter of the world’s coal reserves are located in the United States, but this President has wanted to bankrupt them and hurt the American people with higher gas prices.
Radical socialists, global elites and pretend Americans, be gone. It is time for real leadership, energy independence, real tax reform and compassionate leadership in the world. Make 2012 count. If we can’t get off the globalist and socialist stupid machine, One of us might have to run to get things in order. We have seen what the politicians and self appointed messiahs do.
