Obama's feeble attempts to look presidential in the face of the worst oil spill in this country’s history

Obama seems unable to cut the mustard as each incident makes it appear

We have had a few Presidents that had great problems at “cutting the mustard” while most of them have managed quite nicely. So what do I mean about “cutting the mustard”?

According to yaelf.com, it is not a particularly old saying or adage having first been mentioned by American author O. Henry in his “Cabbages and Kings” (1894) called mustard "the main attraction” and again in 1902: "So I looked around and found a proposition that exactly cut the mustard." This same source added further: “and that it literally means ‘cut mustard’ as an example of an easy task (via the negative expression ‘can't even cut the mustard’), mustard being easier to cut… than butter.” Obama’s latest attempt to cut the mustard with negative results has been his feeble attempts to look presidential in the face of the worst oil spill in this country’s history. As CBS News Interactive: Oil And Gas Use reported on May 27, 2010 from Covington, LA, “Disaster In Gulf Of Mexico Surpasses Exxon Valdez Spill, dire new government estimates showed the disaster has easily eclipsed the Exxon Valdez as the biggest oil spill in U.S. history.” NBC News on Channel Seven on late afternoon of May 28, 2010 showed a video film clip with Obama praising himself (as usual) stating “I am on top of things here in Louisiana.” But Mr. Obama, I wanted to ask, instead of being “on top of things”, shouldn’t you better get started on “getting to the bottom of the problem?” And to think that just yesterday, he said he was going on vacation but apparently someone with more smarts (Joe Biden?) got to him and advised against it. FOXNews.com addressed the issue with this online headline and story, “Stressed Out or Tone Deaf? Obama Chicago Vacation Raises Eyebrows” on May 17, 2010: “But President Obama's decision to skip the traditional Memorial Day ceremony in Arlington while on his second vacation since the BP oil spill began has some wondering what the schedule says about his priorities.” It appears that he would rather “cut and run” than “cut the mustard.” It would be fitting for someone who really and truly was too inept for the job. As his performance in office so far has produced just about a zero or minus zero capability score. So much for his own assessments that he would model his “transformative” change presidency after former presidents Roosevelt, Kennedy and Reagan. Christopher Ruddy reported in Newsmax.com in “Biden’s Prediction: Obama Failed the Test’' on Thursday, May 27, 2010 11:36 PM, “He may, sadly, turn out to be worse than Jimmy Carter. It is sad because, when the American people need a president to assert strong, positive leadership at home and abroad, Obama is failing us. On Thursday, the president held his first press conference in over 300 days — nearly 10 months since his last one.” For a narcissistic man such as Obama is, it is incredible to imagine that he would avoid meeting with the press as often as he apparently does; no meets with them in over 300 days represents more than EIGHTY PERCENT of his first year in office. To me that suggests ineptness or fear of being trapped by an errant answer from some aggressive reporter; OR BOTH. Christopher Ruddy went on to say that “Obama informed us… that he has been in charge since the spill began and takes full responsibility for what has happened.” But then Ruddy asks: “Isn’t it a tad bit late to do this?” I would answer Mr. Ruddy that it CERTAINLY is a tad late after THIRTY SIX whole days since it began, and close to 90 percent of the American people believes that the federal government has handled the spill crisis poorly, with only 16 percent believing otherwise. There’s that ineptness creeping in again. By the way, those numbers just mentioned were provided by Ruddy from a new Thursday Zogby poll, not someone’s imagination. But this evidently doesn’t stir any action from this ungraceful non-leader as according to Mr. Ruddy, “Obama appeared somewhat apologetic for the problems so far.” Maybe he’s back on the “Apology tour” that he took to the Middle East some months ago, bowing to Islamic leaders like a lackey. Ruddy goes on to say that Obama’s “handling of the disaster, even just the public relations stemming from it, has been woeful… with harsh reality bumping up against President Obama’s facade and shattering the glass — a glass image created by oratory, image, and an adoring press.” Can anyone say, “Incompetent?” That is akin to ineptness like pride which goeth before a fall. Obama’s may be coming sooner than we know. For example, another matter that has jumped up to bite the current usurper on his bottom called the Joe Sestak, possible grounds for impeachment, problem. (If this keeps up Obama will refuse to talk with anyone named Joe, just look at the problem Joes; Joe the Plumber, Joe Sestak, Joe Wilson, and even Joe Biden. It’s his bad omen. And if he keeps messing with Arizona, Sheriff Joe Arpaio could be his downfall.) When the latest bit of Joe calamity made its way to the headlines of the braver news services that aren’t in the Mainstream Media or the gutless wonders of the journalistic communications world, this Joe was full of candor about the White House offering him a job if he would withdraw against Arlen Specter in the PA senate race. However, now that he actually has won the race his memory has gotten faulty, but the damage is done. In the meeting with the press on Thursday, Christopher Ruddy reports that Obama said that an official response would be coming shortly. To me that means in Obama-speak, that as soon as they’ve arranged for even more bribes and have a pigeon fall guy arranged, a statement which exonerates Obama will be made. Then guess what? They actually did notify the press not too many hours later and by now you may have heard who is the “fall guy” for this farce; if not, by gosh I’ll tell you: It’s Bubba! Yeah! Bill Clinton is going to say that he passed the word from Sestak (I wish his name was Joe Sixpack, it would add some levity to the seriousness of the possible charges that could fly soon if they are inept as usual with this comedy of errors.) Now how much bailout money will old gullible Bubba grab from the White House for his part in this charade? We’ll probably never know. But it helps to add fuel to the fire of incompetence and ineptness in our current Administration. God I’m tired already of writing about this absurd bunch of bungling, un-proficient, heavy-handed crooks. The liberals called Nixon a crook; oh, how I bet he is laughing now.
