In the media world, the Daily Mail, which crosses an ocean, can make or break public figures of the day. Currently, the Daily Mail is trying to make Canada’s Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, the indisputable ‘Heartthrob of World Leaders’, someone capable of evoking the most intense and long lasting school girl crushes, and one who can mesmerize Ivanka Trump and Angela Merkel on the same day.
Makers and Breakers over at the Daily Mail know that the unwashed masses are fully aware that “the camera never lies”, but that the marketing manipulators of camera shots can lie like hell. In the case of Canada’s prime minister—‘hair’ apparent of Barack Obama’s globalist agenda—it can be called Liberal Party marketing at work. In the constant whir of cameras clicking at all major public events, there’s bound to be one still shot that can be manipulated to tell a story with no basis at all in truth. For the Ivanka’s-Got-A-Crush-on-Trudeau photo, Trump’s happily married-with-children daughter was caught by the camera purportedly staring longingly at Justin. Never mind that the countenance reflected on her face could have come from thinking loving thoughts of her baby, who may have said “Mama” for the first time that morning. But Ivanka’s longing look would do perfectly for her pictorial adoration of ‘handsome, heartthrob” Justin Trudeau. In the digital world, you can make ‘True Romance’ out of anything because the digital world is one where “anything goes” and often goes viral to boot.

“Tiny Trump”

One day after President Donald Trump’s presser where he called out the Fake Newsie Folk in the mainstream media, a 5-month long dormant Internet meme called “Tiny Trump” was conveniently brought back Lazarus-Like from the dead. The Daily Mail was among the first news outlets to run Tiny Trump pictures, Tiny Trump sitting with Obama just before transition, Tiny Trump held up like a doll by Uncle Vlad Putin, Tiny Trump being walked down the stairs at the U.S. Capitol in Washington, D.C., by his wife, Melania, Justin Trudeau kneeling down to greet Tiny Trump. Tiny Trump, an “urban dictionary” to which anyone can add words, is now used to photo shop Tiny Trump into the pictures of award winning news photographers without complaint. Try Googling for pictures of President Donald Trump and see how long it takes you to find one that makes him look reasonably human. In the days when this writer was still a print news reporter, reporters were instructed by their editors to find the worst pictures available of their political enemies which were used every time the enemy hit the news. The files in which the pictures were kept were called: “The Uglies”.

Birrell’s unprofessional and hate-filled description of President Trump

And then there are the Tiny Trump words, some more graphic than Tiny Trump’ s most hideous pictures. This is how Ian Birrell, the Daily Mail’s man in Washington drew his picture of President Trump in words yesterday: “The buffoonish 70-year-old billionaire with orange face, small hands and strange hair has picked ceaseless fights with judges, journalists and television jokers.” How convenient to forget that Glenn Beck, who originated the “orange face” meme, was one of television’s biggest jokers until folk started switching the channel on him. The mainstream and social media can pick “ceaseless fights” with a president, but a president who stands up to them will be thoroughly media trashed. Birrell’s unprofessional and hate-filled description of “orange face” President Trump came close to the beginning of his column, giving many readers good reason not to go on and read the rest of his spiteful attack. Any day now, Liberals pushing the “Honey, I shrunk the president” meme will be shrinking into oblivion themselves.
