In libspeak, becoming more civil translates into: “agree with me or shut up”!

Worlds Deadliest Metaphors!

CNN has managed to make itself even duller than it already was. John King actually apologized for a guest’s use of the now verboten term, “crosshairs”.

Henceforth, all discussions of politics will be limited to approved verbiage. During the next heated election, we shall find ourselves riveted when we are told that Ohio and Florida are “states with large numbers of electoral votes which tend to have similar numbers of ballots cast on both sides.” “Democrats are proposing to get more votes in states normally won (meaning more votes obtained) by Republicans” to replace “Democrats are targeting red states.” This should really capture the collective mood in the run up to 2012. But, at least no crazies with guns will hear any inflammatory language that could incite him to go out and shoot into a crowd. Oh wait. Loughner never listened to political news or talk radio. But, censorship will make liberals feel superior and that’s really all that matters. And they’ll never miss a chance to take a whack at Rush Limbaugh and talk radio. Nobody wants to listen to liberals. They think if they force conservative talkers off the air, someone might finally have to listen to frothing at the mouth lefties. In libspeak, becoming more civil translates into: “agree with me or shut up”! They have no objection to their financiers in Hollywood turning out graphic violence. The president himself welcomed JayZ not only the White House, but the Situation Room. Evidently, the ubiquitous references to hate, violence and misogyny in rap music could never inspire any unstable sort to act out. With Valentines Day coming up, don’t expect to see those menacing images of Cupid with his arrow. We can’t risk some lunatic being inspired to lob a dangerous projectile at the object of his affection.
