Flags and Flowers Honor Veterans Every Day, Not just on a Holiday

Flags and Flowers Honor Veterans Every Day, Not just on a Holiday
When I called Preston Sharp, he answered the phone.  I heard the voice of a very young person.  However, as the conversation ensued, I heard words of commitment, well beyond the age of the person on the other end of the line.

When I met Duane Ehmer in Red Bluff, California, he handed me the business card of Preston C. Sharp.  He had obtained the card when he visited Preston at a cemetery where Sharp was busy planting flags and artificial flowers (Red Carnations) on the graves of military veterans.

Duane, a veteran himself, knew that I was a Vietnam Veteran, and felt that I would be interested in this story.  That has become an understatement, as I interviewed with Sharp.

Rep. Matt Gaetz, multiple Congressmen: the FISA memo indicates ‘People will go to jail’

Rep. Matt Gaetz, multiple Congressmen: the FISA memo indicates 'People will go to jail'
If you spend your days following, dissecting, and writing about politics, you get used to bombast and hyperbole. Democrats have turned it into an art form. We’ve all heard it a thousand times before. Our troops are Nazis, government shutdowns and tax cuts will kill you, the GOP wants to throw grandma off a cliff, and the world will be uninhabitable by 2017.

When you see so much of this stuff, it doesn’t take long before you learn to separate genuine bombshells - even if they are extraordinary in their severity - from the standard phony, ginned-up, manufactured outrage.

Every Intelligence Committee Democrat votes against letting full House see facts about Trump campaig

Every Intelligence Committee Democrat votes against letting full House see facts about Trump campaign wiretap warrants
Remember how hard the Justice Department and the FBI fought to not have to turn over documents concerning their pursuit of a warrant to wiretap Trump campaign official Carter Page in 2016? Remember how the House Intelligence Committee subpoenaed the documents in August, but had to deal with constant foot-dragging and excuses until Paul Ryan had to threaten them with a contempt of Congress charge to finally get access to the documents?

If you’re any sort of critical thinker, it made you wonder what they were hiding - especially since it appears they may have used the fake Steele dossier to convince the FISA court to issue a warrant to wiretap Page. That would mean a Democrat administration got permission under false pretenses to spy on a Republican presidential campaign. That’s bigger than Watergate.

Inconvenient truth

Inconvenient truth
The mainstream media is waging a war against president Trump and the American people as well. Personally, I trust the National Enquirer more than I trust the mainstream media. I never watch the mainstream media anymore because they are so politically biased and corrupt. However, I enjoyed watching youtube clips of the MSM going rabid over Trump’s alleged remark about crap-hole countries. Watching media actors, masquerading as journalists, exaggerate and expand upon the meaning of Trump’s alleged remark was entertaining, but I wouldn’t rely on them for accurate and truthful reporting since they clearly have an agenda that requires them to mislead the public by any means necessary.

Democrats insist on DACA Amnesty

Democrats insist on DACA Amnesty
Democrats’ insistence on an immediate immigration amnesty for potentially millions of young illegal aliens may shut down the federal government at midnight tonight for the first time in the Trump era.

The House vote to fund the government whose funds run out later today, came as the Trump administration sent out confusing mixed messages about its commitment to build a wall on the nation’s southern border and about the constitutionally dubious Obama-era Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program that Trump said in September he planned to end. At that time Trump gave Congress six months to put some kind of a legislative fix in place. At a recent televised meeting with lawmakers at the White House Trump seemed to soften his position on DACA and border security but yesterday on Twitter he reaffirmed his previous hardline positions.

HHS Announces New Policies to Protect Life and Conscience

HHS Announces New Policies to Protect Life and Conscience
WASHINGTON, D.C. - Today, the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) announced two major actions to protect life and the conscience rights of Americans.

First, the HHS’ Office for Civil Rights (OCR) announced a new proposed policy to enforce 25 existing statutory conscience protections for Americans involved in HHS-funded programs, that will protect the religious and conscience rights of doctors, nurses, and other professionals from being coerced into participating in medical procedures such as abortion, sterilization, or assisted suicide that violate their consciences.

Always-classy Pelosi: Funding CHIP for 6 years is just the cherry atop a sundae made of dog feces

Always-classy Nancy Pelosi: Funding CHIP for 6 years is just the cherry atop a sundae made of dog feces

If Democrats were interested in doing so, they could get on board with Republicans and fund the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) for the next six years. However, they’ve decided that placating so-called “dreamers” is more important to them.  So, they’re making a stand which places 800,000 DACA protectees above the needs of millions of young US citizens.

Pentagon: Countering China and Russia now higher priority than fighting Islamic terrorism
Relax. This doesn’t mean we’re not going to fight terrorists. What it does mean is that we’re not going to let geopolitical rivals walk all over us and gain strategic advantage while we use the excuse that we can’t fight them because we’re too busy with Al Qaeda.

Remember when Mitt Romney said in a 2012 debate that Russia is America’s number one strategic rival, and Barack Obama mocked him for it. “You said Russia. Not Al Qaeda, but Russia,” Obama sneered. “The 1980s called. They want their foreign policy back.”

Donald Trump Jr. rips Democrat efforts to keep FISA intelligence memo secret
Democrats just love transparency. They’re completely open, honest, and forthright at every opportunity.  Assuming, that is, that the transparency in question benefits their party, its members, or its agenda.  If it doesn’t….

Well, if it doesn’t, they move en masse to keep potentially damaging material away from the public’s prying eyes.  They wouldn’t want to give the riff-raff a peak behind the curtain, would they?
