Nationalized Soros Care, Obama’s drug czar has announced the end of the war on drugs.

Obama Rolls Out the Next Plank in the Soros Manifesto

As the Obama administration’s assault on the nation continues with nationalized Soros Care, including “involuntary euthanasia”, Obama’s drug czar has announced the end of the war on drugs.

Former Seattle police chief, Gil Kerlikowske, will be following the Soros administration’s policy of treating drug abuse as a public health issue rather than a law enforcement matter. Joseph Califano, former Health and Human Services Secretary under Jimmy Carter has called Soros the “Daddy Warbucks of drug legalization”. Unrepentant Nazi collaborator, George Soros has donated millions to organizations dedicated to the legalization of illicit drugs. Kerlikowske told the WSJ: “Regardless of how you try to explain to people it's a 'war on drugs' or a 'war on a product,' people see a war as a war on them," he said. "We're not at war with people in this country." George Soros’ Open Society Institute’s position in favor of drug legalization:
The Global Drug Policy Program stems from the notion that the "war on drugs" is actually a "war on drug users" that violates human rights. Furthermore, current policies related to the war on drugs undermine HIV prevention efforts, fuel organized crime and corruption, damage fragile economies, and inhibit countries from implementing progressive and pragmatic drug control policies. The program’s main objective is to infuse a more balanced approach into international drug policy that incorporates a greater focus on public health and human rights.
Cynical types might detect some similitude. The eight planks of the Soros Drug Manifesto:
  • advocating against the incarceration or forced institutionalization of drug users who have not committed crimes;
  • supporting debates that question forced eradication, seizure, and interdiction measures that violate civil liberties or undermine democracy, and in some cases threaten security and stability within nations;
  • demanding effective and humane treatment of drug users inside prison and out, and insisting on better UN guidelines for defining evidence-based drug treatment;
  • promoting the need for countries to escape the U.S./UN diktat of a "drug-free world" and illustrating the need for countries to have greater flexibility to implement local or regional solutions;
  • supporting more in-depth economic analysis on drug-related issues;
  • focusing on law enforcement strategies, highlighting examples of best practice as well as human rights violations;
  • scaling up public education initiatives and marketing to reach previously untapped audiences;
  • building and supporting the network of drug user advocates to strengthen the international drug policy debate.
In 2003, the blissfully crime free city of Seattle passed an initiative making marijuana crimes a low law enforcement priority leading to an “open air drug market in the downtown business district”. Inexplicably, then Chief Kerlikowske opposed the initiative, yet his officers backed off on enforcing drug statutes. Sergeant Richard O’Neill, president of the Seattle Police Officers Guild ponders the appointment of Kerlikowske: “The average rank-and-file officer is saying,’ He can’t control two blocks of Seattle, how is he going to control the nation’”? The Sergeant needn’t despair, the Marxist marionette knows better than to defy the Soros Manifesto. The new czar won’t be making independent decisions anytime soon. The OSI touts its International Harm Reduction Program (everything is international with these people), part of its Public Health Program. The IHRD has been supporting programs in Central and Eastern Europe and Asia providing a “pragmatic and humanistic approach to diminishing the individual and social harms associated with drug use, especially the risk of HIV infection.” The use of the term “pragmatism” in connection with politics is always a reason for apprehension. It’s another liberal code word for statist agenda over fundamental liberty. Communism, Marxism, socialism and all forms of tyranny are rooted in “pragmatism”. Don’t fall for the fiction that “pragmatic” is synonymous with “practical”. Not in leftist lexicon. Pragmatism in libspeak means maximum expediency in implementing the oppressor’s goals. There are no underlying core values or principles; everything is relative. Human suffering is easily ignored. The most iniquitous facet of socialism is moral relativism. There is no right or wrong for the socialist. Saul Alinsky taught that the end justifies the means. In 2003 the US Department of Justice disputed many of the pro drug lobby’s claims:
“The Legalization Lobby claims that the fight against drugs cannot be won. However, overall drug use is down by more than a third in the last twenty years, while cocaine use has dropped by an astounding 70 percent. Ninety-five percent of Americans do not use drugs. This is success by any standards.”
The DOJ also challenged the notion that illicit drugs can be used safely: “There is a growing misconception that some illegal drugs can be taken safely. For example, savvy drug dealers have learned how to market drugs like Ecstasy to youth. Some in the Legalization Lobby even claim such drugs have medical value, despite the lack of conclusive scientific evidence.” The Soros administration would have us believe that hapless souls guilty of simple possession are rotting in our prisons. According to the DOJ, only about 5% of inmates in federal prisons are there for possession convictions. Few states have the resources to incarcerate for minor drug possession unless the offender has plea bargained down from more serious criminal charges. It’s farcical to even entertain the notion that Soros is acting out of humanitarian concerns. Georg Soros has only one cause: the enrichment and empowerment of George Soros. As Cliff Kincaid astutely observes:
“Soros has categorically denied receiving money from drug cartels or any form of criminal activity. The fact remains, however, that at least some of his financial operations have been based offshore, in banking and financial centers that are widely reported to be considered conducive to money-laundering.  The Soros fund is based in the Netherlands Antilles, a self-governing federation of five Caribbean islands. A CIA factbook describes the region as "a transshipment point for South American drugs bound for the US and Europe; money-laundering center."  “Soros reportedly purchased a major stake in one of Colombia's biggest banks, at a time when the Drug Enforcement Administration, in its study, "Colombian Economic Reform: The Impact on Drug Money Laundering within the Colombian Economy,"  was documenting how major drug kingpins were taking advantage of the liberalization of the economy to put illicit drug revenue into legitimate businesses. The report stated: "U.S. and Colombian Government authorities have evidence of drug proceeds being deposited in every major bank in Colombia... A Colombian source indicated that many banks and businesses are owned covertly by principal members of the Cali cartel.’”
Liberals love to use Europe as the shining example of successful statist policies. Perhaps they can explain how it happened that after the legalization of marijuana in Holland, heroin addiction levels tripled. Zurich also experimented with liberal drug policies which resulted in the ignoble Needle Park debacle. It may be enticing to get caught up in the debates for or against drug legalization, but to do so risks discounting the more ominous reality: that George Soros is setting policy for America.
