Obama Cozying Up to the Left by Weakening Nuclear Policy

Nuclear Statement Puts Politics before Security

Sacramento, Calif. – President Obama’s nuclear arms policy, unveiled today at a speech in Prague, pleases his far-left base but does little to improve national security, says Move America Forward, the nation’s largest grassroots pro-troop organization.

“Once again, President Obama is playing politics with America’s national security policy,” said Danny Gonzalez, Director of Communications for Move America Forward. “This policy does not strengthen America’s bargaining position in our increasingly dangerous world. It fails to put increased pressure on threats to peace, like Iran or North Korea, and fails to adhere to the successful strategy of Ronald Reagan of peace through strength.” “Like Obama’s plan to close Gitmo and turn dangerous terrorists loose or into the U.S. criminal justice system, this is a policy to appease his left wing base. It may make Obama look like he wants peace, but history has shown that appeasing your enemies almost guarantees conflict. “Under Obama’s new policy, countries without nuclear capability will be emboldened to use chemical or biological weapons because the Obama policy rules out the nuclear option. We should not let our enemies know that if they attack America by any means other than nuclear, America will not retaliate with nuclear force. Even another terrorist attack such as what happened on 9/11 or a chemical/biological attack will not warrant a nuclear response under the Obama doctrine. That is only inviting our enemies to take their shots. “When America weakens its position, history shows, our enemies don’t back off. They only get bolder.” concluded Gonzalez. “That puts our country at a greater risk. You can’t deter our enemies by limiting our strength.”
