Recall how he turned his back on his own fellow citizens’ concerns about illegal immigration, joining with the president of Mexico on the White House lawn to denounce the sovereign state of Arizona for simply trying to help the federal government enforce current immigration laws. Obama also cajoled Latinos during his Univision Radio interview to vote in order to
punish our enemiesSilly me – here I thought that we were all part of one United States where it is OK to disagree amongst ourselves on issues without being branded an “enemy” if you happen to disagree with Barack Obama. And isn’t the term “enemy” something the President and Commander-in-Chief of the United States should reserve for al Qaeda, the Iranian regime and North Korea rather than use to describe his fellow citizens? In the same Univision interview, Obama singled out Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid‘s opponent in the Nevada Senate race, Sharron Angle, as someone the Latinos need to defeat if they want comprehensive immigration reform. Playing group idenity, race-based politics, Obama said that without the Latino vote:
The woman who’s running against him [Harry Reid], who opposes comprehensive immigration reform, would win and we would be in much worse shape.Of course, there is nothing wrong with encouraging your base to show up and vote for the candidate who best serves their interests. That’s democracy in action, as long as the integrity of the voting process is not compromised. However, what we are finding in Nevada are examples of apparent voter fraud. Clark County is where three quarters of Nevada’s residents and live and where Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid’s son Rory is a county commissioner and is also a Democratic candidate for governor. Reportedly, since early voting started, there have been credible reports that voting machines in Clark County, Nevada are automatically checking Harry Reid’s name on the ballot. It also turns out that the voting machine technicians in Clark County are members of the Service Employees International Union (SEIU) – the same union that gave $500,000 to the Patriot Majority PAC, which has spent $1.3 million against Sharron Angle. SEIU just also happens to be the same union whose former president, Andrew Stern, has been the most frequent visitor to the Obama White House. This could all be a coincidence, but I don’t think so. Obama and SEIU are joined at the hip. Interestingly, Obama’s choice of words in his inteview with Univision Radio to explain why progress was so slow on immigration reform had an eerie ring of familiarity to it. Obama said:
I am president, I am not king. I can’t do these things just by myself…again, I just wanna repeat, I’m president, I’m not king.Where have we heard that “king” reference before? We heard it just a few months previously, after Obama gave a speech on immigration reform at American University. But this time it was uttered by SEIU Executive Vice President Eliseo Medina, who said right after Obama’s speech:
Those of us frustrated by perpetual inaction on immigration reform were reminded today that President Obama was elected President, not king. Despite his every effort to deliver a federal fix to our broken immigration system, the President cannot act alone.Since old-fashioned democracy may be getting in the way of their agenda, we are witnessing what looks like a crass attempt in Nevada to steal the Senate election. Unless they are stopped on November 2nd, Obama and his cronies at SEIU will bring us one step closer to Obamacracy. Joseph A.
