Uncle Sam Or Is It Now Mommy Dearest?

Once upon a time we had a great uncle who was there for us in his own subtle ways, he may have overseen some of the things that make us tick and he may have asked for our assistance in return in times of need. Today that uncle has been slowly replaced by mommy dearest wanting to bring about complete control over our lives in less than benign ways. Oh yes this is slowly occurring no matter if we would prefer to keep our heads buried in the sand over the fact that we have allowed for it to occur.

Mommy dearest our Federal Government no longer thinks that you their "child" can make rational decisions and choices on your own, that you have to be guided and protected against yourself in their eyes. It is not that you have the intelligence any longer or the rationale to choose what type of vehicle that you would prefer to own or what type of food that you would choose for your family or self. Oh no, you can no longer be entrusted with that responsibility, so come to the rescue mommy with her regulations and intrusions into every aspect of your personal life. Mommy does not think that you can decide for yourself what you should listen to, or the fact that you have the ability to decide on your own that if you disapprove of something that you can always seek alternatives. Mommy does not want you to have the ability to think for yourself because than mommy may be exposed for the fraud that she morphed into, but mommy will always tell you that she is doing these things because she loves you so much and needs to "protect" you from yourself, after all doesn't mommy know best? Uncle Sam cared for you as well at one time, but he did not want to place the heavy hand of control over all that you enjoyed or that you wished to become. Uncle Sam looked over and said you can go as far as you wish and do not worry I may place some limited boundaries, but it is up to you to decide on your own just what you decide that you can consume or achieve. He said you can go out and listen and speak to your heart's desire freely as long as you do not harm another. He did not look to control the content of what you may or may not seek in your journey to form your own opinions, he did not forget the mistakes of the past when it was allowed by those to become your mommy dearest that in doing so you give a little bit of your independence an inch at a time. No Uncle Sam he was that person over in the distance that believed in the individual, he did not try to make you dependent on him in all aspects of your life, but said you are free to go out and make your own mistakes and triumphs and I will be there for you to lend a hand to help you get back up again if you need a temporary boost to do it all over again if you fail. We have been slowly nudged into believing that Mommy Dearest will be our salvation and saving grace. Mommy Dearest wants to give you a time out and punish you for achieving success because it is not fair that you did so and your brother or sister may not have. Mommy wants to reward your fellow brothers and sisters for not finding it in themselves to seek out that success or even one again standing on your own two feet. Nope mommy wants to extend those rewards at the expense of your fellow brothers and sisters who decided that it was better to swallow their pride a bit and seek out opportunities that may not be what you truly desire , but still allows for you to not be dependent on the gracious "good will" of Mommy Dearest. Mommy has influenced you since childhood that you have to take her for her word that she is always looking out for your best interest and not those of others, after all her evil stepsisters will go about telling you daily just how evil those mean people are that do not want to fall under the "protection" that Mommy Dearest desires for you. Please do not despair though, mommy has many "wonderful" people under her tutelage working daily to bring about even more rules and regulations for you and I to follow, after all it is for our "safety" and how could we be upset about that it sounds so soothing. It almost makes you want to be complacent and forget about the fact that if you step out of line by even a small fraction that mommy may decide to come and swaddle you up and tell all of your brothers and sisters that you are a bad person and need to be cast aside and discredited for your independent desires and beliefs. After all Mommy knows best and you better not forget it ! When we fail to learn the lessons that history affords us we are bound to repeat them, in our case here in America our ancestors did not enjoy the heavy hand that Mommy Dearest in the form of the British government of the 1700's placed upon us. Instead they looked to having a distant Uncle that we so affectionately call Uncle Sam be the government that is there to protect us in limited capacities and rolls, one that looked at the individual as the one that had the ability to come to rational decisions of their own accord, and the ability to make choices on their own. he would be there to assist us in the times of need and he would guide you back to your independent journey that you as an individual embark upon. He would protect us against enemies far and near, instead of embracing some of the least desirable aspects that many of those enemies and allies may practice, he would not intrude into every aspect of your life and most importantly he would not demand even by benign ways that you become dependent on him. History is the great equalizer, it spells out past mistakes and past accomplishments. It is up to all of us to wade through the fog to recognize that some of the things that we are seeing occur today have been tried and failed time and again. It is up to us to recognize that the heavy hand that Mommy Dearest would like to place upon your behind is not what is always in our best interest, but may be in the best interest of others that do not really have your "safety" in mind, but your independence and personal freedoms in the crosshairs.
