Why Jews Vote Democratic - Redux,

Why Do American Jews Follow Liberal Democrats When GOP is More Supportive?

On Monday, November 22, 2010 Townhall.com published an article by Bruce Bialosky titled, "Why Jews Vote Democratic - Redux" expressing his opinions on this perplexing question. I say perplexing, because I and others I know and have read about, are in wonderment over this matter of seeming dichotomy; dichotomy because the GOP has almost been a handmaiden to the Jewish state of Israel and also attentive to Jewish Americans as well. The word 'redux' in the article's title also refers to bringing it back to attention once again, which applies to me, having written about it before on this site.

Other vita of Bruce Bialosky in support of his credentials for investigating this subject of American Jews and the wonderment of their proclivity for hanging with liberal Democrats that appear to be anathema to overall Jewish goals in general are as follows:
  • Founder of the Republican Jewish Coalition of California.
  • Former National Treasurer of the Republican Jewish Coalition.
  • Golden Circle Fundraising Chair for the California Republican Party .
As Bruce reported in the Townhall.com article referenced above, citing the proposition, that "Many people in the Republican Party wonder why the majority of Jews continue to vote Democratic" citing the last occasion of American Jews preferring a Republican for president was in 1972, Richard Nixon over George McGovern. They wouldn't even vote for Ronald Reagan over the, as Bialosky notes, clearly anti-Semitic Jimmy Carter. I could see their reason for voting Nixon over McGovern who was the most far-left, wishy-washy and unpopular candidate probably ever to run for the POTUS office; but Carter over Reagan? In the former the Jews fell in line with public sentiment against McGovern, but why not for the same reason in 1980 when the wildly popular Reagan mopped the floor with Carter? Quixotic? Absolutely; rashly unpredictable. Bialosky continued his article of perplexity by describing an attempt of a very prominent Jewish temple in Los Angeles to promote a debate by means of separate forums between the gubernatorial candidates Meg Whitman (R) and Jerry Brown (D) along with senatorial candidates Carly Fiorina (R) and Barbara Boxer (D). Audiences were to be comprised of temple members and the general public, for the separate but equal forum discussions. When both Democratic candidates opted not to participate in the forums, even though they would not be confronting their adversaries in person, a huge outcry went up from the many Jewish temple members that the talks should be cancelled ignoring the fact that the Democrats themselves had made the decisions not to appear even though both Republicans had and did appear; however, the appearance of Fiorina was poorly attended due to a lack of proper publicity by the temple people. Bialosky offered this in his Townhall article: "The attack on simple fair-mindedness was aided and abetted by other elements of the Jewish community. The Jewish Federation, the umbrella organization for the community, pulled out of involvement and conveyed that information through their Vice-President, a former staffer for Democratic Congressman Howard Berman. The Jewish Journal (formerly owned by the Federation and supposedly now "independent") did a hatchet job reporting on the Whitman event which further chilled the Temple from promoting the Fiorina event." The article continued with, "The relentless effort by Jewish liberals to suppress the speaking opportunities of their political adversaries - behavior that is both shameful and un-American, and which violates the most fundamental principles of the Jewish community - is, regrettably, a constant theme of the left. This disgraceful incident points to an undeniable truth: there is a structural deterrent to even having a chance to present a competitive argument to the Jewish Community. "Some live in denial of the fact that for the past 50 years, the Democratic Party has horribly misrepresented the interests of Jewish Americans, especially on the core value of our educational system. "They deny the fact that almost all of the Anti-Israel elements within America are not only found on the political left which are also major stakeholders and figures in the Democratic Party. They tell us we should support Jewish candidates despite the fact that none of them had the courage to stand up to President Obama while he was trashing Israel and its Prime Minister." OK. Admittedly, both Mr. Bialosky and myself are members of the Republican Party and most assuredly promote the ideals, morals and scruples of that party, not because he is Jewish and I am Irish Catholic. It is because the goals, and non-socialistic tenets of freedom without religious or political restraints and community work ethics and behavior are more supported in the Republican Party than in the liberal-communistic Democratic Party which vies to own your body and soul and make you pay dearly for that membership to the point of taking your hard-earned wages and distributing them to others that have no inclination to exert themselves in order to earn an honest living or to pay their fair share to live in this country. Incredible as it may seem, Newsmax.com published an online article, "Rabbi's Protest Beck's Use of Holocaust Imagery" on January 26, 2011 wherein the specter of one of the most villainous ultra-liberals in the entire world, a former Hungarian Jew who had his name changed from the recognizably Jewish name of Schwartz, to a more neutral Hungarian, Soros, before World War Two. Was he trying to hide the fact that he was a Jew and tried to camouflage his name? You'll have to ask him. But the incredible thing in the article was the report that "Four hundred rabbis will publish a letter Thursday (Jan. 27) calling on Fox News to sanction host Glenn Beck for repeated use of Nazi and Holocaust imagery and for airing attacks on World War Two survivor George Soros." Note that it did not say World War Two 'military veteran' or 'hero', just 'survivor' as if that denoted some form of righteous and commendable presence in today's world. This man who has worked with anti-Jewish forces that sought not to help Jews but much the opposite from them; a man who has a communist background and is known for his support of Christian hating organizations such as the ACLU and is basically an America-hating billionaire, part of the inter-world Bilderberg Group that would see America in slavery to the United Nations, is now the darling of FOUR HUNDRED Jewish rabbi's. Would these rabbi's prefer the liberal Democrat, Muslim-hearted Barack Obama as well as George Soros over Christian Republicans? Oy gevalt!
