And the sad thing is even if the Winnipeg Jets changed their offensive logo, few of these anti-war politically-correct busybodies would even show up to a game, let alone know what sport we’re even talking about.
Apparently there is a smattering of anti-military folks in this city who don’t like the fact that the new Jets logo pays homage to our air force’s rich history in Winnipeg. Their argument is that by honouring the military in any way, fans donning “militaristic” Jets apparel would necessarily be expressing their support for Canada’s military actions abroad.
The Jets have been around since 1972. I went to a New England Whalers game against the Jets in Boston during the old World Hockey Association days and got to see Bobby Hull play. I don’t recall all this uproar back in the day and it seems there are just a bunch of whiners that have way too much time on their hands.
