Obama must be taking acting lessons from Tom Hanks. The studiously worried look on his face when he appeared at a video conference flanked by Secretary of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano and Craig Fugate, head of the Federal Emergency Management Agency, qualifies him for this year’s Academy Award Best Actor Category. A Barry Oscar could be placed on a White House mantle alongside the Nobel Peace Prize he won after weeks on the job. Worried? Obama--by a single day--cut short his vacation in Martha’s Vineyard to hurry home to Washington to deal with preparations for Hurricane Irene.
Hurricane Irene was a worry one day short of the end of his latest holiday, but not a worry during the other eight days he was doing what he does best? Vacationing. An earthquake that left cracks in the Washington monument didn’t worry him during his latest vacation. But a storm already downgraded to tropical by the time he got around to addressing it, did. Eleventh hour, stage left arrivals has been Obama’s style ever since he strutted out from under styrofoam Greek column stage props on the fateful day he was nominated as Democrat presidential standard bearer/ rock star at the 2008 DNC in Denver.

Obama worried? It is likely that wife Michelle Obama, who has so far spent an estimated $10-million traveling and shopping at taxpayer expense, was in front of a White House mirror trying on her latest bling while Obama was making his `Be Worried, Be Very Worried’ Hurricane Irene speech. In his “understand this is not over” message to Americans, Obama warned that the flooding and power outages experienced by millions could get worse in coming days as rivers swell past their banks. 2011 has been ‘The Year of Floods’ across the fruited plains. With no speeches from Obama, the residents of Missouri, Mississippi, North Dakota, Iowa, Tennessee, Kentucky, Arkansas, Mississippi, Louisiana, Nebraska et al didn’t waste energy worrying and waiting for an Obama speech. They dug out and rebuilt instead. Yet, even after Irene was downgraded to a tropical storm, Obama wanted Americans to worry. Not Obama though because as sure as some people use twin jets to fly off to holidays, his next visit to the golf links can’t be far away. And speaking of worry, people who still value their freedom should be real worried about Obama’s apparent lack of worry about his disapproval ratings hitting an all-time record. Does it seem to anybody but Canada Free Press (CFP) that the most unpopular president in American history is not the least bit worried about Election 2012? CFP cannot be alone in thinking that something stinks and that the stench is not coming from the direction of Denmark. Just before leaving for Martha’s Vineyard Obama gave fiat approval for the latest version of blanket amnesty. Between illegal aliens and ACORN cheating, Obama needn’t worry about losing re-election next November. If terrorist Tea Party types don’t “force” his hand on imposing martial law and suspending elections, that is. When Obama acts worried, that’s when the rest of us should worry.
