Rubio’s verbal shuffle on Thursday

The Rubio Shuffle – Is He a Man Who Can be Trusted?

I had planned to write up the minutes from our parish’s Pro-Life meeting Wednesday night and delve into a book given to me by a friend from church, entitled ‘Wake Up, America’ by Gregory Lang, … but, after hearing Rush Limbaugh’s interview of Marco Rubio Thursday, I felt compelled to comment on the interview. On the surface, Rubio appears to be reprising the Susan Rice ‘Parade of Lies Tour’ over the airwaves. After Rubio’s verbal shuffle on Thursday, I felt like taking a shower. Is he a man who can be trusted?
For the uninitiated, I don’t trust politicians. This is a learned distrust. Most lie and couldn’t give a rat’s rump about anyone or anything but being re-elected, amassing huge wealth and power (at the expense of those they swear an oath to serve) and having a building or a highway named after him/her. Those who go into office with a clean heart are either turned, or turned out by the elites atop each major political party. If these actions don’t work, political threats are made, and, if all else fails, the puppeteers bring in the muscle and threaten the politician and/or his/her family. This may sound cynical, but today’s reality reeks with cynicism. Because I was driving at the time of the interview, I wasn’t able to take notes, but the hairs on my neck stood up when I heard Rubio’s answers to the questions posed by Rush. First, he usually had two parts to his answers, which, to me, means he was hiding something. Second, his ‘assumptions’ are questionable, at best!

One assumption dealt with the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). He said the DHS will have five, yes, F-I-V-E years to come up with an acceptable plan for securing the border, and he assumes they will do the right thing in securing our borders. Who, in their right mind, trusts anything that the vermin atop the DHS do, or will do in the future? If not successful, there are to be triggers to remove this responsibility from the DHS. Shouldn’t the border be secured before any other action to ‘legalize’ those who are here illegally, regardless of nationality? Despite the claim of the triggers, this is a non-starter for me; how about you? The track record of the ‘Demoncrats’ (we are dealing with Satan’s pawns) has been established, and to not recognize their lies is just plain stupid, dangerous and traitorous. Marco needs to brush up on his history of what happened when Tip O’Neill and his band of merry men and women finessed Ronald Reagan. They promised to secure the border in return for amnesty for three million individuals here illegally. Once Reagan signed the bill into law, the Democrats reneged on their part of the agreement. Our current reality is a lasting testament to their treachery. We have only to look back to the ramming of ObamaCare upon a resistant populace to realize just how devious and committed the Democrats are to their rigid ideology, regardless of the truth and/or who gets hurt, as long as those hurt aren’t the politicians, themselves. Were we not promised a reduction in health insurance premiums? Why is it reported on the Drudge Report that individual policies will mushroom by 80% in 2014? Democrats and their allies within the Gutless Republican Party are never to be trusted, period! A second assumption is that, over time, those here illegally and who believe that government is the source of prosperity can be convinced that this is a myth. Marco Rubio offers a compelling story of personal success, but he is the exception, not just of those of Latin heritage, but of society as a whole. Is he not making assumptions his political naiveté can’t cash? If there is a Senate committee that deals with issues of immigration, why is there a Gang of Eight? Why do we allow ourselves to subject to the ‘appearance’ of a neutral gang, when any thinking person realizes there is nothing neutral about this gang and amnesty is the end game of this charade? These puppets were handpicked to ram through an offensive bill that further destroys our crumbling republic. There are a number of rumors of a grab bag of freebies and objectionable benefits for the newly legal tucked deep within the bowels of the 844 pages of the current draft of deceit. Senator Sessions has also warned of the numerous, disturbing and financially devastating aspects hidden within the bill. In the rush to ram this bill through Congress for the Democrats to add to their stable of voters and big business to secure cheap labor legally, the deck is stacked against existing law, many of those at the bottom of the labor pool, and U. S. citizens, especially those who have immigrated to the U. S. legally. Why doesn’t Rubio propose something novel in today’s political minefield? Why not have the Gang of Eight expose their negotiations on immigration reform to the sterilizing lamps and cameras of TV to dispel the concern of graft and corruption being divvied up amongst questionable characters and factions, allowing everyone the opportunity of knowing what is in the immigration reform bill? Wouldn’t that be responsible and representative government? Shouldn’t this be done with all legislation? In 2008, didn’t candidate Obama promise five days of Internet access for all of us to be able review all proposed major legislation before a vote is held on all major legislation? Rush asked why Republicans are always bending to the will of the Democrats. Wouldn’t a better question have been, ‘Why is it that law abiding citizens are constantly pressured to accept the criminal, illegal and immoral individuals within our society?’ Also, why is it that law abiding citizens are punished for the sins of the criminal/terrorist elements of our society, as in the quest for gun control, with an emphasis on ‘control’? Another question might be, ‘Why expend political capital on a fool’s errand, doing the dirty work for Schumer and the rest of the collectivist wrecking crew?’ According to Rubio, legal status would be granted for six-year timeframes. How will this six-year limitation be any different from our current situation? If those here illegally were not being deported now, why would anyone believe they would be deported in six years? If people don’t act legally, fines are to be imposed. Who is being naïve here? Legal citizens and visitors are being asked to pick up the tab and approve of the breaking of our laws for the unprincipled, irresponsible, and egregious actions of every Senator, Representative, VP and President since the last amnesty! As Rush alluded, once people who are here illegally are granted legal status, and the nose of the camel has penetrated the tent of total amnesty, it will be Katie-bar-the-door! Almost immediately after legal status is granted, all of the deprivations of voting privileges, financial and social benefits, etc., promised by Rubio and the Gang of Eight to ram this excrement upon us, will become a new battleground. It will be said that the new legislation is too harsh; it isn’t fair for those who are now legal not to be able to vote, or access our ‘entitlement’ programs, ObamaCare, etc. If Rubio doesn’t realize this, he’s more of a greenhorn than most realize. If he does realize this, and he’s pushing this bill in spite of this, he’s more devious than many realize. Fair-minded people desire responsible, legal, immigration reform for all who seek to immigrate to the U. S., but what the Gang of Eight is pushing appears to be to immigration what ObamaCare has been to our healthcare issues. We can’t afford the insanity! Let’s draft legislation with the legal citizens and visitors in mind, not just those who are here illegally. Two additional issues need to be addressed. Leading conservative media personalities continue to prop up Rubio as being a conservative and a potential Presidential candidate. I was born in Missouri, and with my ’show me’ and ‘distrust and verify’ attitude towards politicians, I question the conservative credentials of Marco Rubio. Actions speak louder than words, and Marco’s current actions and words do not instill confidence in his purported conservatism, regardless of the continual support of Rush, Levin and Hannity. Several Constitutional experts are adamant that Rubio is not eligible to seek a ‘higher office’, as in the VP post, or the Office of the Presidency. If this is true, why do the voices of conservatism continue to keep this potential candidacy alive? If it is not true, why don’t they address this issue openly? Having these conservative giants shrink from discussing this issue openly leads one to believe he is not eligible. Of course, if Rubio betrays the country on the immigration topic, his eligibility won’t be an issue because conservatives will abandon him, and he will become a Democrat. They have already proven that they wouldn’t let a candidate’s ineligibility prevent them from supporting him/her for elective office. Mr. Rubio, you can’t ride both sides of the fence without getting splinters. Time and your actions will expose you as a bona fide conservative, or as a charlatan. You control your legacy, and I pray you are true to your word and political promises. Our country cannot afford any additional traitors, and I pray that you can’t live by living a lie.
